Medium beige head quickly disappears. Clear reddish brown body with light carbonation. Strong earthy cherry aroma with vinous strawberry notes. Dry-sweetish-acidic earthy papery vinous cherry taste with waxy funky notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, vaguely metallic mouthfeel. Dry-acidic lemony cherry aftertaste with earthy funky vinegary salty notes. Nice and very harmonic, yet different. (0.375l bottle, shared by gr0ve.)

I think it is more of a wild ale than Flanders but it is really tasty. Not at all vinegarish nice red fruit base. Beautiful wine barrel notes. Delicious.

Clear amber with a fizzy white head. Lots of brett in the aroma. Barnyard, sour cherries, brett smokiness, overripe pear, and some light wine barrel notes. The flavor is pretty sour, with a nice woody wine character and sour cherries.

375ml bottled 02/2017, merci BA-beersnake shared at Freiburg August Deluge Tasting 2017. - What a revelation to have this on standby after De Garde’s young&green Pinot Noire US-lambic style: a by now much anthologised US Oud Bruin, pinot noire barreled. Label mentions a min. barreling age of 9-15 months. - - - Lovely thick oaky vanilla nose, adding spicy umami to a mild version of more familiar Vlaams Oud Bruin lacto tartness, including mushroom. Taste is smooth (!) like silky Spätburgunder molecularly infused with a subtle dose of earthy umami champignons. Fruity Tartness of both sweet and sour cherries with lacto edges builds around the umami grapeflesh, remaining well-behaved, gastronomic and not a pornographic end in itself, like in so many other US sours. Slight residual sweetness andstickiness, like the residual sugars of sweet cherry in buttermilk, going on supreme strawberries-and-cream deliciousness. - In parts this is a luxury version of a very good Oud Bruin and one of few US sours my Belgian-socialised palate/enamel agrees with.
