Draft at Bigwood 12/6/12 [5 of 11].
Aroma: belgian golden ale, yeast, malty sweetness. Like a dubbel with extra spices (nutmeg, cloves).
Appearance: pale gold. One finger worth of nice frothy white head. Crystal clear. Nice but irregular lacing.
Taste: big sour up front (unexpected from aroma). Followed by noticeable hop bitterness before giving way to a sweeter finish in line with aroma. The transition is jarring, and not as harmonious as I've come to expect from RR.
Palate: medium body, nice carbonation.
Overall: this is still pretty great, but isn't in the same league as the others (1-4) I'm tasting side-by-side.
Note from Nick: "this is the best thing to ever come out of a chardonnay barrel. Write that down."

Such a great beer. Super complex but everything is in perfect harmony. White whine character is mellow and peasant. The sourness is nice and not overly acidic. keithk (18) - brooklyn, New York, USA - MAR 31, 2017
This is my perfect beer - I can find no fault. Crisp, delicious, beautiful to look at. Sour, fruity, funky, plus a little Chardonnay wood. The best of the (amazing) Russian River lineup of wild/belgian/cask aged styles. Vestergaard (2089) - Aarhus C, DENMARK - MAR 18, 2017
