Pours black with little head. Tastes of coffee and chocolate with a hint of raisin. The raisin flavor is more subtle than I was expecting. Gets better as it warms.

Bottle share at RBB. Pour is light brown with a small off-white head. Flavor and aroma of dark caramel, light oats, and a tiny bit of raisin sweetness. phaleslu (10099) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 25, 2016
Draft at the RateBeer Best Awards. The branding is confusing here; the table banner was just marked "Cloverdale" - nothing about Ruth McGowan’s - so for those of us without any knowledge of the place or these names, it was hard to find in the database. Pours an opaque coffee brown with a medium khaki head that settles into bubbles and a light film. Notes of coffee, oats, toasted and mellow roasted malts, earth, black olives, raisins, cream, and cinnamon. Light-medium bodied, with a smooth, bitter, roasty, lightly sweet mouthfeel and modest carbonation. Good. Nice complexity. DSG (14685) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - FEB 12, 2016
[1/30/16] Draught sample at RateBeer Best awards ceremony at Hyatt Vineyard Creek Hotel in Santa Rosa. Black. Aroma of roast, chocolate, cookies, some dark fruits. Bittersweet flavor, roasty, with chocolate, dark fruits. Medium-bodied. BeerFunGuy (875) - California, USA - AUG 1, 2015
Creamy and flavorful it has a very little light tan colored head and beautiful ebony color. It has a flavor of roast coffee and smoke. It has a raisin like aroma. Gription79 (2886) - Bountiful, Utah, USA - APR 6, 2014
Poured from a 22 ounce bomber. I was hoping for something more well crafted. This is a stout with cinnamon. Chocolaty, roasty, spicy/fruity cinnamon. No cookie, no raisin. No flaws other then that it is not oatmeal with raisins.

On tap at TAPS in Petaluma. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is pleasantly sweet, lactose and chocolate. Flavor isn’t very cookieish, more like a typical oatmeal stout. Some roasted malt, coffee grounds, some chocolate. Pretty tame beer. oRos (1675) - sacramento, California, USA - APR 10, 2013
On tap at sacramento chilli cookoff. Taste was lots of roasted malts and chocolate. Some creamy from the oats bvc (1242) - Washington, USA - FEB 12, 2013
Bomber. Black, light tan minimal head. Licorice, patent malt, bit of plum, chocolate, faint spice roasty, pepper, green apple...where is the raisin and cookie?...Carbonation is forced and off putting and this is missing some body and anything that would lead me to think ’oatmeal raisin’
