Grumbo (4126) - Ipswich, Suffolk, ENGLAND - NOV 9, 2017
Bottle and sample courtesy of MarkoNm, cheers! Pours very slightly hazy with a very small bubbly off-white head. Aroma of malt, grain, syrup, caramel and rice water. Light to moderate sweetness, medium bitterness. Light body, watery texture, quite flat carbonation. Finish is slightly sticky and grainy. Not great, though somehow expected worse?

Bottle. Hazy grey golden, white lace. Oxidized hay and rusty nose. Light body, sparkles. Hayish malt, a bit dusty, light butter, but mostly clean, dust reteronsal. Mostly clean, not great, but ok. North Germany is best Korea.

Bottle, at SinH4-5K-MoritzF-10K tasting. Pours clear golden. Aroma is bread, butter, metallic. Body is rather light, sweet and buttery, greasy, slick. Lively sticky carbonation. Ugh.

Ritzn (1890) - GERMANY - AUG 31, 2017
Clear golden with little white head. Aroma is sweet malty buttery body, bready, caramel. Taste is sweet malt with some peas. Drinkable. Not that bad. North Korea, you got it.

Mild hellmalziger Antrunk. Süßlicher Hintergrund, der nicht lange anhält, zunehmend trocken. Süffig, zum Ende bitter-malzig. Okay. 8/7/8/8/6/8

UPDATED: JAN 26, 2016 Frische Flasche (룡성맥주 12°, 640 ml) vom Pyongyang Shop, Pyongyang.

Gift from CC. This was horrible! Sorry, great leader but this is not a great beer.

Flying over the China/North Korean border I first sipped this courtesy of Air Koryo. An aircraft without air conditioning, I was looking forward to a nice cold, crisp and refreshing glass of....this...flat, and warm... My first impressions were not too good of this so I am judging it from my 8am ex military helicopter ride and my many other travels around the DPRK!

It pours a deep golden amber with at least a finger head. Pungent aroma of corn and malts. Initial taste of malts, then some rice, corn, and a blast of honey sweetness at the end. A decent 8am beer whilst in a chopper making your way up to the Friendship Museum!
