It’s mahogany-red with a creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, caramel and light licorice. The flavour is moderately sweet with notes of roasted malt, caramel, light licorice, syrup, and the finish is dry with a light bitterness. It’s a delicious dunkel. Bottle. The aroma of dark malt, light bitter, reminds me a little bit of a cola without sugar. The head is small, white and creamy-fizzy, fast disappearing. The body is dark red. The taste is in the beginning quite bitter, the beer is dry in the mouth. The finish is light cardboard. The body is medium strong and very dry, especially in the finish. The carbonation is lively.

Clear dark amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, bread, roasted, caramel. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average duration. Body is medium to light, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft.
bottle from Bierzwerg. The back label says it is a Schwarzbier, despite the beer being called Dunkel. Clear deep dark colour, nearly black, dense beige head. Aroma of coffee and roasetd malts. Medium-bodied, slightly malty with intensive flavours of roasetd malts, coffee and dark chocolate. Stout-like smooth and velvety mouthfeel. I think it has more characteristics of a Schwarzbier, rather than a Dunkel. Whatever it is, it’s definitely a nice beer. yespr (45499) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - APR 4, 2009
