Saaremaa X is a strong light beer made with an attempt to follow the old brewing traditions while using modern high-quality ingredients and extremely pure ground water. As a result, you can enjoy one of the strongest beers available in the Estonian beer market. The beer has the best proportion of taste and strength and the best proof-cost. The bottle combines a wind-mill and the breweing traditions of Saaremaa. Saaremaa X – islander is the last to leave.

Fine colour. Very strong, sweet. But the alcohol traces are hard to feel. Not a bad example of strong estonian lager.

Senka (1097) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JAN 17, 2015
From the archives: I have friends, who got wasted on 1 of the bottles of that. Dancing on he tables and such. Just a fortified lager. Retired ages ago.

Marduk (8622) - Reval, ESTONIA - APR 27, 2012
UPDATED: MAR 17, 2017 500ml bottle (Liivalaia pood). Clear golden color. Malty, sweet, caramel and alcohol in aroma. Malty, sweet and caramel in taste. Fizzy carbonation. Constantly gave me worst hangovers ever.

rane (1107) - Nibe, DENMARK - OCT 2, 2011
Bottle. Beyond best before date, but it was still drinkable. Pale yellow. Aroma sweet malty, some alcohol. Taste sweet malty, a bit like a danish "guldøl". Despite the alcohol quite refreshing.

"Saaremaa X on kange õlu." O RLY? Then again, it’s a *lot* better than for example Finnish IV B. Not so malty and quite sweet. But not good enough to be drunken twice...

thirstyrabbit (1860) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - AUG 10, 2010
Bottle. Rated in 2009. I only bought it out of curiosity because it was one of the strongest beers available at the time. Aroma was mostly alcohol with little maltiness. The taste was strongly alcoholic which killed off anything other that could have made this brew interesting. It was cheap though.

Snegurochka (397) - Tromsø, NORWAY - JUL 5, 2010
Smells like cooked vegetables. Sweet and alcoholic taste, with notes of citrus. Sweet and alcoholic water, really. Shared 27. Oct. 2009 at Rating session in Tromsø.

JorisPPattyn (10111) - BELGIUM - MAY 6, 2010
Thanks to Stefaan! Good, fine & dense yellowish head over well-carbonated yellow-golden beer; end of bottle fully hazy. Sweet, alcoholic nose, pale malts and oxydized malts. More alcohol and more alcohol... just the CO² alleviating the sweetness. Old cookies, almonds, forgotten piece of marzipan. Sharp burning MF, near overcarbonated, fiery alcoholwarming. Terrible malt liquor.

mirjukka (752) - LOHJA, FINLAND - FEB 21, 2010
bottle 500ml EXP 14.03.10 from Alko Thanks JanneK. pale golden yellow high carbonation. Sweet corn like malty,no remarkable hops alcohol comes through. I dont cry after this version or wait unpatiently 7% version.

estpiwo (1319) - ESTONIA - DEC 26, 2009
