On tap the at the brewpub in. 23/07/2015 Light amber orange coloured pour with a lasting frothy cream coloured head. Aroma is malty toast, clean lager yeast, spicy berry hop. Flavour is composed of nice clean crisp toastd bread, light cereal, spicy hop, light metalic, vanilla. Palate is crisp light sweetness, semi dry finish. Airy carbonation, good stuff.

BlackHaddock (7516) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - SEP 25, 2013
Tall 0.3 litre glass at the brewpub on 10 Sep 2013. Murky looking dull brown/amber body, on top a cream coloured head. Slight caramel and nutty feel to the nose and taste: fairly sweet with a mild hop finish. I’d say a typical German brewpub Dunkel, nothing upsetting, but nothing extra ordinary either, drinking it fresh and surrounded by the brewing equipment makes all the difference though. Comes out with a better score because of that!

Unclear medium amber colour with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate to light light heavy malty, caramel, light roasted, chocolate notes, brown sugar notes. Flavour is moderate sweet and light moderate bitter with a long duration, dry, caramel, leather notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20121004]

Brewpub Bottle 1l. Typical brewhouse style Dunkles. Cloudy, fresh, small carbonisation. Great malty taste, little bit bitter fom the Röstmalz, too much for my taste. Drinkable!

Grima (2499) - Merzkirchen, RLP, GERMANY - JAN 21, 2011
Draught on [email protected]! Beautiful nut-brown color, fine creamy head. Smells malty bitter with decent hop aromas. Starts nutty malty, but overall very bitter, and hoppy as expected. The aftertaste is also very harsh and dry, especially. The center part is significantly hoppy. In my opinion too much hopped and too bitter for a Dunkles!
