Bottle (12oz). Poured bright slightly hazy reddish-amber with an average white creamy head. Juicy fresh hop aroma - citrus with pineapple, apricot and some evergreen, a little sweet, but pleasing. Taste has some tropical juicy-sweet malt, but mix of citrus and pine fresh hops is dominant - it finishes reasonably quickly, but tangy bitter to the end. The body is decent - I want to say a bit watery, but that’s a quibble; mouthfeel is juicy, a wee bit astringent, nicely lively - solid APA. frylock (1144) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - APR 25, 2006
Bottle: Golden brown with a thick white head. Typical APA citrusy aroma. Moderate levels of bitterness, some grassy and pine notes. Pretty well balanced. Finishes off dry and bitter. A decent pale ale. yemntftb (106) - USA - APR 7, 2006
A very solid English style pale ale. Big head, not a lot of carbonation. Redish/orange in color. Dry finish. CapFlu (5132) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 6, 2006
(Draught) Sampled at the Central New York Brewfest on February 4, 2006. A big, big surprise from Sacketts Harbour - including the fact that this was the first beer I tried at the festival - and it was likely my favourite of those I reviewed. Pours a large, tan head with an orange body. Very piney and cascade nose and flavour. Thin finish. Lubiere (14151) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 6, 2006
A golden ale with a thin off white head. Surprise from SHBC! A pleasant aroma of caramel malt over good floral c-hops and classic citrusy notes. In mouth. the same. A good malt base with well balanced hops. A bit thin but this the strongest SH offering I tasted to date. One of my coup de coeur at the CNY Brewfest 2006.
