Rich, light bodies and beautifully balanced, this luxurious New World ale has a deep amber color, an irresistable aroma and a refreshing citrus tang.

From a 330ml bottle on 18/11/2012. Pours a clear golden with a small head that disappears quickly. Has very little nose, with just some very slight mineral and grain notes. The flavour is a little better but still quite uninspiring with a hint of sweet citrus and a very mild bitterness. Pretty bland stuff (go the Monkey’s Fist Pale Ale in this series, which is much better).

345ml into bottle. Citrus hop nose. Fast diminishing head. Golden amber colour. A bit watery, a bit tangy, a little bitter. Nothing special.

Lame bottle, rather unpleasant taste and overall a disappointment. Should’ve gone with the Three Sheets.

StevieT (2015) - AUSTRALIA - MAY 11, 2014
From a bottle. Pours a clear amber with a mild aroma of malt, not much head, not as hoppy as I would have liked but pretty good.

Morboso (146) - AUSTRALIA - APR 25, 2014
Good beer, not much bang for buck but to be fair I am drinking it with an IPA. Don’t like the overly eager labelling with some silly not worth reading blurb on the back label created by some yuppie marketing twit - just doesn’t seem to fit in with the honesty profile of beer. But a quite nice beer for a lager anyway even tho it is a "golden ale".

Muggus69 (2589) - Yarram, Vic, AUSTRALIA - JAN 23, 2014
330ml bottle Slightly hazy golden body, white head drops away. Subdued aroma; soapy citrus hop, some pine needle, odd bit of corny malt. Moderate carbonation, medium light sort of body. Bit of mild hop on the body. Oddly soapy and DMS corn character. Mild bitterness. Not great, couple of things wrong with it.

Westkyoto77 (636) - Kyoto, JAPAN - DEC 29, 2013
Bottle. Dark gold, handsome short-lived head. Lively and light, more like a summer ale. Sweet flavours of berries and bread on a dusty hop base. Refreshing, but not very inspired.

Dervock (1404) - AUSTRALIA - OCT 2, 2013
Bottle - pours deep gold with. Thin white head. Malt and cereal, with maybe a hint of apricot. Some caramel up front then a dry finish. Slightly oily palate.

BarossaLuke (552) - AUSTRALIA - FEB 15, 2013
Fairly non-offensive Golden ale. Not a lot of hop character there, a little bit of stone fruit. Palate has some light crystal malt flavours but is clean and easy drinking.

Stew41 (2055) - Phuket, THAILAND - JAN 24, 2013
Not too much to get excited about here. More pale lager than golden ale but to be fair there’s sufficient (just!) fruity honey notes coming through. I can only imagine this beer was conceived post Woolies acquisition?

KeefOz (1873) - Tarragindi, AUSTRALIA - JAN 16, 2013
Poured a clear amber colour with a thin off-white bubbly head that diminished quickly to a thin bubble line and didn’t lace. Moderate carbonation. Aroma of sweet malts. Taste of slightly sweet malt followed by a very mild bitterness. Light body with watery mouthfeel. Average at best.
