Bottle. Bbe 08/13. Very dark brown in color, thin beige head. Smoke, roasted malt and some herbal notes in aroma. Flavor has smoke, roastedness, hops, cold leftover coffee. Dry finish. Light and easy to drink. oh6gdx (26487) - Vasa, FINLAND - FEB 10, 2013
Bottled (from Alko Prisma, Vaasa). Hazy brown colour with a small beige head. Aroma is mild smoke with some roasted malts as well as some toffee and mild floral notes. Flavour is rather similar in a nice balance. Quite nice and clean, but could do with a bit more smoke. Easy to drink. BitchPls (815) - FINLAND - FEB 10, 2013
Dark brown beer with a medium beige head. Has sweet ham aromas. The bitterness is very nice. It has a little bit of that smokiness in the taste too. Mouth feel is quite watery. The best Marsalkka I’ve tasted. mikkopen (1192) - Guelph, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 10, 2013
330 ml bottle. Hazy dark brown colour, thin off-white head. Smoky, malty aroma with roasty and fruity notes. The flavour is malty, with tar & smoke, and a smoky, grassy bitter finish. OK. mjs (7590) - Helsinki, FINLAND - FEB 9, 2013
(Bottle,0.33 l, from Alko, 20130209) The beer poured dark brown and cloudy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had malts, smoke and roasted malts. Palate was medium bodied and quite dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were smoke, ash, hops, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was smoky and bitter. A unblanced and musty brew. The level of smokedness was good.

0.33 l bottle from Alko. Hazy dark brown color. Aromas of smoked ham, dry woody smoke, tar and nutty maltiness. Smoky and bitter flavor with smoked ham, roasted nuts, some grassiness and some yeasty notes similar to kellerbiers. Medium body. Bitterness is a bit too high and rough when combined with the smoke. Nevertheless, this is uncompromising beer and I would like to taste this again. jookos (6973) - FINLAND - FEB 8, 2013
Bottle. Dark brown, murky. Brownish malts, some smoke on nose. Somewhat woodsly/foresty aroma. Lager yeasty. Body is quite nice, not too light. Tar-y malts, a bit of sweetish caramel. Overall an ok smoke- inspired beer. More tar/caramel than smoke actuallly. And a bit sterile/industrial.Beerheart65 (1503) - Pori, FINLAND - FEB 8, 2013
Mahogany brown, hazy, light beige head is thin and short. Dark bread, vegetable, dry roasted malting, smoke. Dry roasted, thick smoky flavor, medium body, dry and bitter finish is quite long and smoky, potent carbonation. I found the smoke in this to be too harsh and dry, too burnt. A dark brown beer with an almost medium and beige head. Aroma is roasted, some smoke and tar liquirice, sweet strawberries. Taste is balanced sweet and malty, some dry smoke, roastiness, hint of berries, the aftertaste is slightly biting and herbal. Taste is too simple and more smoke would be nice. Almost medium bodied, medium carbonation. More smoke would be needed, also too simple, the best part in this beer is the aroma due to some personality. Tide (4220) - Helsinki, FINLAND - FEB 8, 2013
Bottle from Alko. Thick brown color, beige head. Malty taste with smoke, wood, malts, bread and nuts. Nicely balanced body, maybe a bit thin though. Bitter finish with smoke and nuts. Good, enjoyable brew.
