Bottle. Reddish black beer with a light head. The aroma is slightly smokey and coffee based, and the flavour is lightly bitter and roasted. Overall a nice smokey and dry beer. rauchbier (3925) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - JAN 7, 2007
Bottle, from Sainsburys. Deep chestnut red-brown, thin off white head and moderate condition. Gentle coffee roast and toffee sweetness in the nose, delicate sweet toffee and burnt dry bitterness in the mouth and a lingering chalky dry finish with a low roasted barley note.

Bottle. A dark copper colour with a large off white head. plenty of malt in the nose. The taste is very malty, with a hint of coffee and caramel. The beer has a malty bitter finish.

Bottle (from Sainsburys). Red brown colour. A malt focussed beer - some toffee with toastier flavours just edging into the coffee and chocolate spectrum. Quite dry and light with a hint of hop towards the end. Fairly pleasant but I found this somewhat unsatisfying as the nice aroma and first taste doesnt follow through in the rest of the beer. Roasted coffee and nutty aroma. Pours with a very dark brown hue and off white head. Roasted coffee, toffee and nutty flavour with some faint woody notes. Very malty finish. Good stuff. renffisch (891) - london, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 9, 2008

Deep dark clear chestnut with a very thin coffee coloured head.Slight roasty toasty taste and a malty finish. albertane (377) - Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, ENGLAND - JUN 20, 2008
This copper beer has a toasty aroma and a complex flavour of fruit and roasted malt with some smokiness with a bit of a boozy kick in the finish. This is my first Dunkel style beer and I was rather impressed.
