This traditional IPA has fresh aromas of white flowers and citrus with a clean bitter hop flavour. This classic India Pale Ale is made in Burton upon Trent, the home of British brewing. The recipe uses Fuggles, Goldings and Cascade hops and yeast from the Burton Union System, only used by the Marston’s Brewery in Burton. The famous Burton water is also used in the brewing process which helps give this ale its distinct flavour.

Bottle from sainsburys. Golden amber beer with small head. Faint malt and caramel aroma. Taste is mild hop, some caramel and metallic. Not good.

Bottle from sainsburys. Mild hop aroma. Bitter taste. Doesn’t really cut the mustard.

Bottle from Sainsburys in Eastbourne shared with McTapps. Non-inspiring but drinkable bitter with just some hops, bit of orange peel and some malty moments. Drinkable, average, mild one.

McTapps (6985) - Reutlingen, GERMANY - AUG 9, 2014
Bottle from Sainsbury’s in Eastbourne. Pours out in a light hazy amber colour with low ehad and medium body. Aroma of mild hops and oak. Taste of mild, fresh hops, oak, spruce, leaves, citrus and light herbs. Easy drinkable yet nothing special.

allmyvinyl (11320) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAR 30, 2014
500ml bottle at home. Pours clear gold, no real head. Aromas are light floral, light caramel. Taste has a touch of Burton bite, but very light. Surprisingly thin too. Ok.

s_hartshorne (2847) - wakefield, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - FEB 21, 2014
Bottle Sainsburys. Pale amber colour ok white head and lacing. Weak aroma hops. Very hoppy long dry bitter finish. Medium thin body strong carbonation. Not very good

Bottle from Sainburys. This is a really nice IPA. That has plenty of hops in taste and aroma. Certainly worth a drink.

jamestulloch (4466) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JAN 10, 2014
Bottle from Sainsbury’s. Slight hazy golden body with a thin white head. Light carbonation. Nice lacing. Dry aroma of burnt grass and mixed herbs. Flavour of metal, earth and grass. Faint bitterness. Medium body with an oily mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Needs more hops to be classed as an IPA, more like a strong Lager.

BeerViking (5193) - Brentford, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 3, 2014
Grainy nose with floral and citrus notes, initially crisp and dry with a firm bitterness, then a little spice and malt coming though, finish is lightly earthy and dry-bitter.
