Available in 500ml bottles at Sainsbury’s supermarkets as part of their Taste The Difference range.
This traditional IPA has fresh aromas of white flowers and citrus with a clean bitter hop flavour. This classic India Pale Ale is made in Burton upon Trent, the home of British brewing. The recipe uses Fuggles, Goldings and Cascade hops and yeast from the Burton Union System, only used by the Marston’s Brewery in Burton. The famous Burton water is also used in the brewing process which helps give this ale its distinct flavour.

UPDATED: NOV 13, 2017 Fairly well hopped, somewhat bitter, hints of resin, marmalade, herbs. Decent beer.

kapusil (1505) - Budapest, HUNGARY - NOV 13, 2017
UPDATED: NOV 13, 2017 0.5l bottle. Clear orange body with an off white head. The aroma is a bit weak, but the taste is pleasant. Caramel and toast represents the malts escorted by a bit of cloves and a generous amount of spicy British hops. Drinkable IPA for sure.

Davros IX (492) - Hertford, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - NOV 13, 2017
Pre-dinner bottle at a friends house where we had been invited for Sunday lunch. A true English IPA with lots of bitter hops, nicely balanced malt and pleasant mouthfeel. The alcohol was well masked and the abv took me by surprise when I had a closer look at the label. This was my sort of beer and could encourage me to visit Sainsbury's to explore the rest of their own label range.

The floral taste outdoes the hops a little too much. Not a bad IPA just not really the best. At least it is more aligned to a traditional ABV% ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

For a shop IPA it is quite ok and the nose is quite agreeable as well as taste. Palate rather short but for a quiet dinner in London its pk.

500 ml bottle, from a Sainsbury Local in Whitton, London. ABV is 5.9%. Golden colour, large to moderate white head. Aroma of toffee and yellow fruits, a hint of sulphur. Medium dry flavour, fairly well hopped, some sulphur from the Burton water.

Far too bitter, Was expecting a smooth and refreshing drink. The alcohol is very poorly hidden.

3.3
Holmen1 (6472) - Stavanger, NORWAY - AUG 15, 2017
Flaske delt med Willy på brygga: klar gylden med fint skum som varer. Innbydende, floral og fruktig aroma og smak med citrus, blomster og karamell i en elegant balansert maltkropp. Lang, ren og god ettersmak. Superlettdrikkelig.

Bottle. Pale Amber in colour. Hoppy; bitter grassy hops. Fruity; citrus lemon. Malty; biscuity malts, buttery caramel. Bitter citrus hops dominate slight malts. Bitter hoppy finish. Slightly harsh with a rather medicinal taste. (2010-12)

2.5
Swaroga (2224) - Warszawa, POLAND - JAN 22, 2017
Long bitterness with herbal notes. Some skunk and grains in the meantime. Nothing to do with IPA.
