Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a clear golden with a white head. Sweet malty and fruity nose with British hops. Medium body, sweet maltiness and some fruit with a rather massive and good hop bite. 050111 Leighton (22819) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 17, 2011
Bottle at home in London with Lyoli, before heading out to see My Morning Jacket. Pours deep gold with a weak, white head. Nose has some herbal, leafy hops and toasty malts. Medium sweet flavor, some basic malts, faint honey, some biscuits, bit of herbal and pine bitterness. Light to medium in body with average finish. Alright balance to finish, some slight stickiness to the hops, hints of earth and grass, some toast and sugar. Uninspiring but completely alright. Mild hopfiger Antrunk mit dunklen Malznoten. Leicht hopfig-würziger Ausklang, wenig grasig. OK. 10/10/11/10/8/10 Theydon_Bois (21480) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - AUG 5, 2012
Bottle at home - 05/08/12. Pours to a clear golden colour with a thin white head and plenty of bubbles rising from the bottom of the glass.
The smell is disappointing - muted hops, background malts and a little caramel finished with a faint whiff of alcohol.
Flavour is again muted hops, caramel/toffee, malt - not a lot else.
Mouthfeel is ok if a tad over carbonated. Thought I’d give this one a try and see what Marstons are capable of away from their normal products. Wish I’d not bothered!
