UPDATED: JUN 17, 2017 4.8% then 4.6% ABV bottle of St Cervois from Sainsbury’s, Team Valley, Gateshead. Pale golden coloured with no head, a soapy lemon flavour followed by malt and lemonade on the finish. Poor. blackradioboy (219) - SCOTLAND - MAR 5, 2015
Ehmm, it's very cheap. £2 a litre for 4.8%. If only it was even a half-decent lager (although maybe this IS the norm...). The supermarket hook is this: the more mini bottles of St Cervais you drink, the less you care about quality of St Cervais. A new Ratebeer category of Best Supermarket Own-brand Lager That's Not Too Crap would be interesting.

Perfectly average beer good for summer parties etc. obviously doesn't compare to any craft beer of choice but you can't complain at 8 bottles for £3.50.

Bottle. Golden, next to no head. Bland lager with a soapy texture and taste. The_Bish (1123) - West Midlands, ENGLAND - AUG 9, 2013
Not too bad on the chemo front but affordable. Gift from Dom at ABL, light Amber pour ppb

Snobs. This is pretty good you know. £3.50 for 8 bottles, bit of malt, crisp and dry. Far better than your Peronis and San Miguels. I’ve found my summer top up. tommann (3859) - Dudley, West Midlands, ENGLAND - JAN 16, 2013
250ml bottle at 4.8%. Pours pale gold with a medium head. Aroma is grassy and minerally. Taste has a lot of mineral character with a little grass on the finish. Theydon_Bois (20225) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - DEC 31, 2012
Bottle at JF tasting, cheers James, not so much part of the tasting but I sniffed out a new rate in the fridge, 25cl stubby listed as 4.8% - 29/12/12.
Lightly hazed mid golden with a thin off white head that clears to bubbles at the edge of the glass.
Nose is pale malt, grain, light vegetal tones.
Taste follows, little else to add!
Medium bodied with light spritzy carbonation, some mild bitterness in the finish.

Light gold with a small lasting white head. Smells of lager grass, hops, corn and peppers. Thin light body. Tastes like fruity grass, hay and maze with a hop bitter finish. Lots of adjuncts, Lets make the cheapest beer possible

25 cl bottle, Sainsbury’s, Sheffield, UK. Not as pale as I thought it would be for the price. An actual aroma of lager, some sharpness of hops with a peppery sweet finish. Maybe a keeper for really hot summer days.
