500ml bottle. Big floral aroma, citrus, hoppy, bitter. For me, one of Shepherd Neames best beers. mike_77 (6733) - Breda, NETHERLANDS - NOV 17, 2011
Red brown colour. Very floral aroma. Quite a soft and malty flavour with a good kick of hop in the finish. Ungstrup (37862) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - JAN 14, 2011
Bottled. An amber beer with an off-white head. The aroma has notes of nettles, spices, malt, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and nettles, leading to a dry and lightly spicy finish. Thanks yespr for sharing. johndoughty (5465) - cheslyn hay, West Midlands, ENGLAND - JAN 20, 2012
Bottle. ( Clear ) Golden and very clear.Quite dry with a bitter finish.Typical Shepherds Neame signature floral flavour. A bit predictable but still rather nice. bhensonb (15338) - Woodland, California, USA - APR 15, 2013
Bottle from the Cromwell Road Sainsbury’s in London. Pours copper amber. Aroma of light roast malt and floral. Med body. Flavor is light roast malt with some sharp bitter. Could be a mix of citrus floral. Too sharp for floral I’d think. It’s not tasteless for sure. Good session ale? I really like the way the bitter builds in the finish.

50cl bottle from Sainsburys. Not sure if this is the same beer as the Asda Golden Ale, seems more citrussy to me. Clear gold in colour with a rapidly fading white head; lightly citrus aroma; some caramel malts. biscuits, and a crisp, fresh, dry, citrus hop finish. Really clean and fresh. UPDATED: JAN 22, 2012 1) 29/11/10. Brilliant bronze, bright white foam. Fizz-sodden aroma of caramel, tea, rabbit hutch and gentle berry fruit. Prickling fizz, hop dryness, sherbet on cardboard...then some decent bread and creamy malt notes lingering long after the swallow. Ash and good jellied hop on the burp. Decent, but damaged. 536312=2.9.
2) Brilliant bronze, slim white neck. Aroma is pure, fresh-plucked English hop off the bine; sherbet, musk, bay leaf custard, cinnamon, Turkish Delight. A showcase for English hop exactly like my homegrown. Decent, mellow, spicy hop flavour like allspice on a Rich Tea biscuit. Some apple and berry fruit. Smear of chocolate. Too fizzy but pretty good. Got to hand it to Sheps- they seem to have mastered the art of pasteurising without destroying the character of their beers. 836314=3.4. stevoj (5271) - Boise, Idaho, USA - SEP 4, 2012
Wonderful peaty aroma, with some apricot. Color is orange./amber/golden. Nice mild bitterness on the tongue. Soft carbonation. Flavor makes up for somewhat watery feel in mouth. bdunhill (255) - Brussels, BELGIUM - JAN 21, 2013
With a malty town this English Bitter is simple yet flavorful. It appears dark brown in town with a simple small head. It has a simple taste that lingers and leaves you coming back for more. hatzer (199) - Nuneaton, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - OCT 23, 2016
