Bottle at the Holy Grail Pub in Plano.
The beer pours a dark brown color with a khaki head. The aroma has a lot of whiskey notes, as well as some roasted malt and oak. The flavor is boozy chocolate and roasted malt up front, with some whiskey, maple, oak and vanilla notes in the background. You can get notes from both the base stout as well as the barrel aging. My only complaint is the mouthfeel, which is too thin for my liking. Medium carbonation.
Pours murky brown with virtually no fizz. Smells strongly sweet and like whiskey. Taste is sweet fading to dry bitterness. Full-bodied with a wet texture and soft mouth-carbonation, Saint Arnold Bishop’s Barrel #1 finishes with a lingering syrupy sweetness. Cybercat (6211) - Georgia, USA - AUG 20, 2016
Pours Coca-Cola brown with a thin buff head. Aroma features roast malt, bourbon-soaked wood and licorice tones. Flavor echoes the aroma while adding a little bit of molasses. Mouthfeel delivers decent body and good fizz. Party with the bishop. rumproasts (6052) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - OCT 27, 2014

"No hint of 12%, thought the barrel shines. Whiskey, coconut, vanilla, molasses, and chocolate almost on equal measures. Very smooth feel. Flavor marches the aroma with a hint of roast and graham cracker. Best TX beer I’ve had so far I think..."

In BB vertical 7/10/14. Bottle from HeffIAm...thanks, man! Been wanting to try this for a while. Pretty thin considering...watery rim from the age? Boozy bourbon nose, with a lot of dark malt.coffee. Dark almost ashy malts to balance the sweet barrel vanilla, some dark dried fruit, hot finish, but not harsh. Preferred this to #3 despite the extra age on this one...less of a hot mess. hopscotch (11305) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - APR 10, 2014
Bottle... Mostly clear, dark brown ale with a small, quickly-dissipating, beige head. The nose is a decadent medley of fudge, bourbon-soaked brownies and light molasses. Full-bodied with an oily mouthfeel and modest carbonation. The flavor is a mélange of deeply roasted malts, semi-sweet dark chocolate and molasses accompanied by a nice measure of bourbon. Short, vanilla finish. Bottle courtesy of Rosebud butternuts! jkwood04 (5463) - Connecticut, USA - MAR 25, 2014
12oz bottle in a teku. Pours black with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, bourbon, oak, chocolate and vanilla, some alcohol, and light notes of dark fruits. Flavor the same with a nice blend of everything. Smooth texture. A good imperial stout. daknole (11402) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - NOV 24, 2013
Brown pour, brown head. This beer tastes just like chewing on a wet bourbon barrel. How do I know? Well I don’t. But I can imagine that it tastes just like this beer. Barrel overload. Nice aroma tho. Experiment_Ale (1098) - Dallas, Texas, USA - OCT 19, 2013
12oz at a bottle shop with Taylor. Pours black with no head. Aroma is bourbon, roasted malt, chocolate. Taste is whiskey booze, big chocolate malt, very full flavor. Big complex stout, very nice and strangely smooth for the style.
