Pours a deep brownish black from the bottle with fluffy tan head that dissipates to leave moderate lace. Aroma of light roast coffee and oxidized caramel malts. Taste follows, with a hint of earthy hop and light booze, some dark fruity notes underneath. A shame it was oxidized, but it was good at one point, you can tell. Tasted from bottle. Pours black with light brown head. Lots of lacing. Aroma of toffee, dates, raisins, tobacco. Moderately sweet. Taste has a little bit of smoked meats to it with dark fruits, cocoa and caramel. Very well done Baltic porter.

12 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 12/28/2016. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 2 finger fairly dense and rocky khaki head with amazing retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts that whole glass. Thick foamy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toffee, molasses, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, and dark bread; with lighter notes of smoke, raisin, prune, licorice, herbal, pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop notes; with great strength. Touch of booze in the aromas as it warms, but not overwhelming. Taste of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toffee, molasses, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, and dark bread; with lighter notes of smoke, raisin, prune, licorice, herbal, pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/spicy hop and roast/char bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toffee, molasses, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, dark bread, light smoke/dark fruit, herbal, pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; with a great hop/roast bitter/sweet balance; with zero acrid/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from hop/roast bitterness. Medium carbonation and fairly full body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and lightly silky/sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is well hidden; a mild increasing warmth, with zero booziness lingering after the finish. Overall this is a fantastic Baltic porter! All around outstanding complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; with smooth and easy to sip on for the ABV. Very rich, complex, and balanced between dark, roasty, biscuity malts; with restrained yeast fruits, and balancing earthy hops. A highly enjoyable offering, and spot on style example. Never roasty enough to feel like a stout. ronaldtheriot (2009) - Laplace, Louisiana, USA - JUL 7, 2017
Saint Arnold Divine Reserve 17 has a medium, tan head, a very dark brown appearance, and a glass lacing sheen. The aroma is of chocolate, milk, dark malt, sweetness, and brown bread crust. Taste is of all those elements, with a thinner-type body. Divine Reserve 17 finishes rich and sweet. RJT djd07 (15663) - Houston, Texas, USA - JUN 11, 2017

Bottle from Common Ground in El Paso. Dark brown pour with a big foamy tan head and thick lacing. The aroma reminds me of a dark chocolate cake with a hint of peanut butter. The flavor is lots of roasted malt plus some coffee. Very well done. ZacM612 (813) - San Antonio, Texas, USA - APR 12, 2017

Bottle - Pours ruby black, yeah. Creamy tan head. Big aroma of dark roasted malts, bakers chocolate, fermented dark fruits... Tastes of the same, with a bit of funk, raisins, woody bite, and a butterscotch hint... Hops throughout. blutt59 (6585) - Dallas, Texas, USA - MAR 15, 2017
