Homefront IPA is an IPA first brewed by Fremont Brewing Company and major league pitcher Chris Ray. It is brewed to benefit Operation Homefront an organization that provides emergency financial and other assistance to the families of our service members and wounded warriors. The beer is a drinkable West Coast IPA. It pours a golden amber with a big white head. It has a big citrusy nose with a slight note of fresh oranges. Malty and sweet up front. Lighter bodied than might be expected. The hop bitter, orange peel and hop flavor seem to all kick in at the finish. Remarkably easy to drink for an IPA with the orange notes more of a secret ingredient than a dominant flavor. Quite thirst quenching making it perfect for enjoying during Memorial Day weekend. Consume this beer fresh as the hop flavor is best enjoyed this way.
This beer was brewed with pale and caramel malts, Chinook and Cascade hops, orange peel and orange zest, and last but not least, 6 maple Louisville sluggers in the bright beer tank.

The citrus wasn’t over bearing, very good balance. I had mine with spaghetti, could’ve picked a better dish to have it with but nonetheless pretty good

From bottle. Hazy light copper with minimal white head. Good lacing. Nose is grass and grapefruit. Bitter up front with a slightly sweet, lingering finish. Another winner from Saint Arnold.

Golden pour, nice head. Decent lacing. I’m afraid it’s a bit old, bottled 3 months ago. Slight citrus notes, Too malty for my liking.

22 oz. bottle from my secret santa. Thanks man! Pours a hazed orange with a medium white body. Aroma of orange peel, citrus, pine and grapefruit aromas. Flavor is fairly bitter up front with some sweet citrus notes coming in towards the backend. Medium bodied, crisp mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Finishes pleasantly bitter. Overall, pretty nice IPA.

Rated based on notes taken on 21 Jun 2012 -- Poured from the bomber into a pint glass. Great Aroma, mild hop flavor backed by good malt and a crisp finish. A keeper!

Golden-orange color with a thick white head. Very strong citrus aroma with pine and resin hops also. Moderate caramel malt sweetness with a fairly potent bitterness on the palate. On the stronger end of the IPA style verging towards DIPA territory. Good beer.

2013-01-18 - with blankboy, jercraigs & mabel - c/o blankboy. Fairly clear gold with lasting white rocky head. Dry aroma - cucumber? - floral, borderline perfume bitterness, some alcohol, vaguely sweet. Taste - very nice nice, much more classic IPA than the aroma (no cuke), but with bright floral notes as wells as citrus/citrus zest/light resin - more alcohol than the aroma (7+). Solid body, astringent, decent carbonation, with a long but not intense bitter finish, dry floral aftertaste - it’s the linger that sold me on this beer - quite good, worth another go if I find it again, and fresh.

Medium amber color, minimal white head. Piney, citrus aroma. Not too bitter. Nice smooth finish. Good.

I'm not a big IPA fan, but I enjoyed this one. Not super bitter. Citrus up front is apparent. Bitter finish of course but great with spicy food. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
