COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Santo is a black Kölsch, which technically doesn’t exist as a style, but this is as close as we can come to describing it. Essentially it is brewed using a Kölsch recipe with the addition of Munich and black malt. It is light bodied and floral yet with a distinct dark malt flavor. Our goal was to create a dark yet refreshing beer that would pair perfectly with a plate of enchiladas. The label artwork is by Houston artist Carlos Hernandez who is known for his Day of the Dead Rock Star series of paintings and prints.

Rated on 02-18-2013 at Saint Arnold B.C. This draft beer pours a small beige head that is mostly lasting, semi-transparent reddish brown body, no carbonation observed, and a good amount of lacing. The aroma is roasted, toasted, caramel malt, nutty, and a hint of earthy hops. The flavor is toasted malt, earthy hops, semi-sweet, and light earthy hops. The mouthfeel is smooth and thin. This beer is light bodied. This beer is quaffable and semi-refreshing.

Average beer. Not much flavor, aroma. Tastes like a kolsch but pours black in color. Malty with little aftertaste. Garbage ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Low-smelling, low-tasting and light beverage with some faint traces of fruit and a slightly acidic appearance. Rather uninteresting.

Draft at the Flying Saucer in Fort Worth The beer poured a dark maroon opaque color with a foamy off white or beige head and lacing. This is refreshing drink. The aroma had some coffee and caramel malt. The medium body beer had average carbonation. The finish was clean with the taste like a black IPA without the bitterness.

Tap. Deep brown with one finger head. Roasted malt, but rather light body. I definitely like this better than dark lagers.

Pour from a 12oz bottle. Clear, dark cola colored brew. Mild aroma of toasted grain. Taste is light and nible but backed by a slightly sweet toasted maltiness. Very good.

Bottle @ home, thanks to a chill dude. Pours a deep reddish brown appearance with a thin brown head. Toffee, light cocoa, cola, dark chocolate, and some grass in the nose. A bit on the sweet side. Nice brown sugar / burnt sugar taste. Some nice herbal and grassy hoppy notes. Kind of a good beer but a little too sweet.

First Saint Arnold product I’ve tried. Set the bar high for all their products. Was definitely not what I expected when I tried it for the first time and I was surprised

Nice lacing. Very malty. Slight spicy note in the finish. Not bad, but not a great beer.

Bottle via trade. Watery cola looking pour. Thin highly carbonated palate. Stale malts and maybe tea? Not really digging this.
