djd07's rating

   AROMA 5/10   APPEARANCE 1/5   TASTE 6/10   PALATE 2/5   OVERALL 11/20

Bottle. Pours a golden color with a medium white head with a lot of bubbles. The aroma is wheat and a bit of yeast. The taste is sweet corn with a wet bread finish. Easy to drink, but not the best wheat beer from Texas.

TXBadger (2811) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JUN 19, 2014
Reviewed from notes: pours a slightly hazy golden color with white head. Raw wheat on the nose, not much else; follows onto the palate. Pretty one-dimensional.

JakeSparks (125) - Alvin, Texas, USA - JAN 21, 2013
funny to see this listed, was drinking this when it was the kristal weizen, six packs never lasted long, case deals at krogers were the best, 20 bucks usually

Tabednar (139) - - JUN 23, 2012
This is a simple beer but I am really sad it not available any longer. It was a nice, easy drinking beer that still have a tasty palate with a nice balance of hops and malt.

Smoky stressed yeast nose with stale grainy malts. Taste of copper, oxidized malt and mold. Nuff said.

SPDickerman (1239) - Texas, USA - AUG 6, 2011
Pours gold with a small white head. Smells like wheat and fried plantains (which I found quite interesting, and was probably the best part of the aroma). Tastes like a generic beer, with wheat and some sweetness, which was reminiscent of fried plantains (another plus for this beer). Medium-bodied with a smooth texture and soft mouth-carbonation, Saint Arnold Texas Wheat finishes with mild sweetness. I wouldn’t say this beer was great, but I am sad that it was discontinued. It was a Texas icon.

rougeau13 (3156) - Richmond, Texas, USA - JUN 20, 2011
Pours pretty yellow with a small off-white head. Aroma is weak wheat malts and other pale malts with a bare hint of citrus. The flavor is the same; weak. Thin, and I guess refreshing on a summer day. But that’s about all it would be good for.

decaturstevo (6343) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - MAY 21, 2011
Yellow pour with creamy white head and lace. Aroma of light sour wheat malt. Light sour wheaty malt flavor with a light bitter. A bit fizzy but a decent wheat.

Koelschtrinker (21064) - K?ln (Cologne), GERMANY - MAY 7, 2011
Wässriger, kaum aromatischer Antrunk. Im Verlauf wenig würzig und hefig, ansonsten trocken und weiter laff. Die minimale Bananennotekann in geringem Maße überzeugen, wirkt aber verloren. Oberflächlich. 8/6/7/5/9/6

v64 (134) - Austin, Texas, USA - APR 11, 2011
Thin, white head. Appearance is medium yellow, very clear. Aroma is all yeast. The taste is thin, with little discernible flavor. Not at all bitter. Fizzy. Not recommended.

Dixonian (1562) - Plano, Texas, USA - MAR 29, 2011
12oz bottle. Clear golden brew with some soapy white head - obviously filtered. Aromas of wheat, bready malt, and some citrus. Not much going on aroma or flavor wise here. Very pedestrian - a decent thirst quincher but not much else.
