A creamy, full bodied sweet stout with a subtle chocolate and coffee flavors and a well balanced soft roastiness. Saint Arnold Winter Stout is loosely filtered to preserve a rich mouthfeel which is particularly satisfying during the colder months. Saint Arnold Winter Stout is best consumed at 45° Fahrenheit.

A much better beer than its average rating on this site would suggest. There’s no accounting for tastes, I suppose.

Clear black, slightly brownish around the edges, with a thin light khaki head. Delightful nose of chocolate, coffee, creaminess, and subtle roastiness. Flavor is equally incredible with creamy chocolatiness, a keen coffee tone, a slight bit of molasses and roastiness. Sweet and creamy but a little roasty and very full and well rounded.

Wow... aroma is exactly like Mexican Chocolate. Amazing... Dark brown in color with clean roasted malt flavor bordering on coffee & cream. Overall, this is an extreme pleasure to drink.

This is slightly atypical of a stout in several ways. The carbonation is a bit higher than I would expect and the body is lighter. The beer is not opaque, not even close. Overall, it seems like a delightful porter. The mouthfeel has a touch of chalkiness which I really like. There is a hint of mint and herbaceous character that adds complexity in an appealing way. I dinged the rating a bit because of the odd approach but I really like this beer.
