On tap. Clear light brown with a fizzy white head. Sweet malty, toast, caramel, and toffee aroma and taste with a malty finish and a lightly sticky medium bodied palate.

Draft at La Fine Mousse, Paris. Reddish brown pour with a bubbly broken head. The aroma is malty with yeasty notes. The flavour is bitter with fruity notes on the palate. A rather drinkable ale but the range of flavours and the smoothness and warmth that one might expect in this kind of ale is sadly missing.

ChrisO ’Night Of The Gaylords’ tasting. Slightly hazy amber beer. Thin biscuit coloured head. Slightly malty nose. Dry semi soft palate. Light. A little undefined fruit in the undertone of the malt. Finishes dry with a malty aftertaste. Pleasant enough.

Pours a two finger cream head that fades slowly to a thin layer leaving a good lace. Slightly hazy amber color. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Nose is earthy and flavor is almost tart pear and earthy. $11.40 for a 750ml bottle from Tully’s Beer & Wine Wells, Me.

Some of these French beers are really good. The aroma is fruity and sweet, with a touch of honey. A medium bodied Biere de Garde. The malts are caramel, fruity and sweet. The hops are earthy. Nice balance. Slightly sweet. A very drinkable. Goes great with a meal.

Bottle, 75cl. A clear, dark amber colored beer topped by a dense, light beige head of finger-thick size. Fruity and candy-ish aroma with some notes of toffee. Sweet and fruity flavor with some bitterness and a faint caramel touch. Warming, full-bodied and nicely carbonated. A decent beer, not very Christmas-ish in my book, and lacking on complexity. 110826

311211: Cloudy brown, a little too sweet. Many will probably liked this beer, it fits well with the food. It is not very exciting.
