750mL fliptop courtesy of ryan. Poured a clear orange to amber with a small, white head leaving small, spotty lace. Nose is apple cider, non-oxidized red apples, overripe pear. Taste is all malty, soft, rich oatmeal malty with clover honey and very moderate spice. Chewy, starchy palate. Soft carbonation. Pretty much a textbook example of perfect malt extraction. Bottle. Pours hazy orange with a medium-small, fizzy white head, low retention with light lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (straw, cookie, caramel), light hops (spicy), and average esters (apple/pear) with notes of peppery alcohol and farmhouse. Flavor is heavy malt (straw, cookie, caramel), light hops (spicy), and average esters (apple/pear) with notes of peppery alcohol and farmhouse. Medium-light body, medium warmth and carbonation, light creaminess with a dry and biting finish. CaptainCougar (7634) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - OCT 24, 2010
Pours a deep copper amber with a spotty-lacing off-white head. Has a sweet toasty caramel malty nose with some light holiday spice and light fruity notes. Starts with some light toasty caramel sweetness and a touch light fruits and clove before a slightly drier and earthy finish. A pretty true to style and complex biere de garde.

750ml bottle (Alko, Helsinki) Shared with Mirjukka - thanks!fata2683 (2202) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - MAY 16, 2010
Very sweet aroma, fruity and a kttle cakey. Rich red, small head. Spicey, and a little bit cakey. Soft carbonation. Smooth sweet cakey palate. This hs aged moe than adequately, but it’s still too sweet and sticky. Not unpleasant, but just too sloppy and brash.
bottle pours light amber with a medium off white head. Aroma is sweet heather and floral. Bready flavors with nutty notes and some spicing in the finish. Dickinsonbeer (5073) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - MAY 5, 2010

Thanks to SwoopJones. Appearance: Small brown head with a brown body to match. Aroma: Grass, hay, corn, caramel and a little leather. Flavour: Malt & bran, corn too. Not for me but glad to have tried. ryan (3185) - Beltsville, Maryland, USA - MAR 26, 2010
Rich toffee nose, with golden raisins, ripe plums and just a touch of herbal hops. Beautiful, masterful display of malt. Taste is lightly sweet, just a touch of bitterness, herbal/floral hops, light caramel, bread and cracker, raisins, light pepper and dusty yeast. Tiny bit of roast on the finish. Well conditioned, gentle carbonation; soft silky body. Lovely stuff.
