ChrisO ’Night Of The Gaylords’ tasting. Slightly hazy amber beer. Thin biscuit coloured head. Slightly malty nose. Dry semi soft palate. Light. A little undefined fruit in the undertone of the malt. Finishes dry with a malty aftertaste. Pleasant enough.
Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a clear amber with an off-white head. Spicy, fruity nose. Solid body, roasted malts, orange peel and brown sugar. Subdued bitterness. Pleasant and balanced. 110110 Leighton (22307) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 5, 2014
Bottle shared in Belgium - picked up at a Carrefour. Pours clear amber with a big, billowing yellowy off-white head. The nose holds lots of bready malts, caramel and toasted sugars. Medium sweet flavor with sugary, lightly toasted malts, hints of cereal and caramel; but thankfully the sweetness is never excessive. Medium to full in body with average carbonation. Lightly dried caramel in the finish with further toasty, rich bread. A very nice biere de garde. Pretty well balanced and drinkable.
