Bottle from Cave a Bulles, at home, 17th December 17. Pours black, bubbly head. Aroma is liquorice, cocoa. Taste is barrel, wood, slight sour, liquor, very tasty and interesting impy, dry not sweet, damp wood. Pretty good.

Bottle, 33cL. 9.5%. Purchase ("La P'tite Mousse", @Parthenay, FR). Home. A sparkling black beer, brown hues on top ; big beige foamy head ; good retention. Bourbon+, roast, wood, black chocolate notes. Medium sweet, quite round, warming, light to medium dry bitter. Medium body, light to medium oily texture, soft carbonation, sweet bourbon dry finish. Overall, very good !

Bottle @ home. Black colour with a light brown head that doesn’t last. Smells wood, oak, red wine, cork, roasty, cherrypeel. Tastes vanilla, roasty, chocolate, dark malts, bourbon. Great taste. Lovely body, nice carbo. Surprisingly good.

Drank with Kaspar and Lennart @ Piet Huisman 14-07-17. Heavy on the bourbon sweetness, which I like. Beer starts full but taste is a bit fading.

Bottle 33.

Glass at 24 uurs van Maastricht 2017: Black beer, small head. Aroma is bourbon, wood, malt, roasted, coffee. Taste is the same, bittersweet, sticky sweet at the end. not bad.

From bottle at Bierfestival Groningen 2017. Aroma is strong vanilla, oak, dark malt, Bourbon, lots of barrel notes and a touch of chocolate. Flavour is sweet. Body is medium to full. Damn, total barrel takeover, nice and sweet, lots of vanilla and Bourbon.

On tap @ Six Roses, Lille - FR. Color: deep dark black beer with no carbonation and medium brown head. Smell: bourbon and sweet roasted malt. Nice aroma, sweet and complex bourbon. Taste: medium body, definitely lack of body, roasted malt and sweet bourbon. Nice bouquet, candied notes and roasted mocha malt with intensive chocolate finish. Aftertaste: roasted malt, caramel and mocha. Really good but definitely lack of body.
