A true amber beer from Nord. It also respects the conditions of Saveurs en or. Its slightly roasty taste is obtained using torrefied malts.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet. Pours deep golden with a big creamy off-white head. Aroma is herbal, light spicy. Taste is moderate sweet malty, caramel and herbal/alcohol sweetness as well. Light oily and spicy burning mouthfeel. Too much burning alcohol for my likings.

Cunningham (8404) - Halden, NORWAY - JAN 21, 2013

Appearance: Hazy amber color with a big bubbly off white head. Fine lacing.
Aroma: Caramel malt, herbal and light fruity.
Palate: Medium body. A bit sweet and moderate bitter. Some alcohol coming through. Average carbonation.
Taste: On the sweet side, light fruity, yeasty and some spices.
Overall impression: Nice tasty beer, but one bottle is more than enough. Could absolutely buy a new one.
Personal stats: Bottle from Vinmonopolet Nettbutikk (netstore), Norway.

Smooth for an ambree, nice brown color, one finger head remains throughout. Aroma of dried fruit, taste of anise, pineapple, caramel. Delicious and well executed!

750 ml swing top bottle. A hazy and sparkling medium to dark amber beer,. with a large, frothy, mostly diminishing, off-white head. The aroma is moderately malty (biscuits, caramel, toasted bread), lightly to moderately hoppy (flowers, herbs), lightly yeasty (earth). with notes of honey, red and dark fruits, hints of spices and peach. The flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Medium body, silky texture, lively carbonation, long finish with almost moderate bitterness, lightly alcoholic. Elegant and challenging, especially in the nose and nicely structured in the mouth. Good balance with a harmony between the roasty/toasty notes and the final bitterness. A surprise.

750ml swingtop bottle pours a hazy golden orange color with a 3 finger off-white head that leaves some spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma is lots of caramel with some nuts and grass. Taste is caramel malty sweet with a nuttiness and grassy hop bitterness in the finish. Light to medium bodied and nicely carbonated. There just seemed to be something missing from this one, and just did not do anything for me.

Foffern (1982) - Bodø, NORWAY - JUL 8, 2012
Bottle. Has a clear amber colour with a very frothy light beige head. A lot of dried fruit in the aroma with with plums and dades. Pretty much wood, and leather as well, and some spices, nearly peppery. More wood and dried fruits in the flavour with also some chocolate, and with a hint of alcohol. Feels a bit belgian. Soft and a bit sparkly mouthfeel, and a medium woodish bitterness that lasts. An okay biere de garde but maybe more on the bitter side.

diabel (1723) - Aarschot, BELGIUM - JUL 6, 2012
Hazy amber body, off-white head. Aroma of exotic fruit and malts. Lightly bitter, moderately sweet flavour. Nice.
