Bottle split with mcberko. Pours a hazy rich ruby red with thick creamy head. Aroma of yeast, nutmeg, and dry red wine qualities. Flavour of yeast, cinnamon, nutmeg, toasted caramel and brown sugar. Mouthful of a dry red wine. Enjoyable, but not overly thrilling.

mcberko (17178) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 27, 2011
750mL bottle, split with Matts_Property, pours murky dark amber with a big creamy off-white head. Aroma is very spicy - cinnamon and nutmeg jump out predominantly, with a bit of brown sugar and toffee. Flavour is a very pleasant balance of caramel / brown sugar and the aforementioned spices, with more of the sweeter side lingering. Medium bodied with a semi-sweet but dry finish. Quite nice.

750 ml. Swing top bottle. Served at cellar temperature. Pours a thick, fluffy, rapidly collapsing, light beige head, with extensive lacing, over a clear, amber (SRM 9) body.....nose is light cinnamon, allspice, bit of toffee/caramel, light fig, plum, citrus.....taste is sweet malts with light brown sugar to start, then light fruits, apple, pear, plum, fig, finishing with a mild floral sweetness, musty tones throughout....mouth feel, light, carbonation adds light spritz. This meets the style, but is lighter than many in a number of characteristics. The malt is not forward enough, and the aroma is almost cola like in some of its qualities. BJCP 7/3/14/4/6
