Gyllen farge. noe uklar med skum som ligger. Lukter godt med humle og er fruktig i smak. Smaken siter i lenge.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet Manglerud enjoyed at home
Copper, big white head. Smells of apple and melon, yeast esters, light malts and spices. Moderate sweet, quite spicy, nice fruityness, quite lots of yeast character as well. Moderate bitter, spicy finish with a touch of apple peel. Interesting biere de garde; one of the better ones i’ve tried.

Gorm (1899) - Sandnes, NORWAY - AUG 26, 2013
Gyllen klar farve med hvitt skum. Lukt av malt, karamell og frukt. Smak av malt, karamell og frukt. Vinmonopolet.

nilsas (4047) - Bryne, NORWAY - AUG 26, 2013
God duft av malt, humle og rosin. Lite skum langs kant. Fin gyllen farge. Litt tørr i ettersmak. Noe metallisk smak og litt rosin.

Pours a hazy golden with a full head that looks nice initially but dissipates quickly. As nice as this one looked initially, the aroma doesn’t really hold up. Its more like the lack of an aroma. With some difficulty I find bready and caramel maltiness. Luckily, the taste isn’t as disappointing. Mild spice that is bubblegumish, some grassy and herbal hops, and bread. Some lemon as well. The aftertaste is the same, but really lingers on your tongue. Medium to light in body, a texture that is more slick initially and than becomes more sticky, with more mild carbonation. I can’t say that I’d buy this if I found it again.

Braastad (459) - FINLAND - JUL 31, 2013
Hazy orange beer. Aroma is faintly sour. Flavor is little fruity and sour.

BOTTLE at Cave a bulles. Head: off-white, small, frothy, poor retention. Colour: golden, cloudy. Aroma: spicy, herbal, sweetish dried hay/herbs. Taste: bitter, spic, dry and refreshing. Has that dried hay aroma that I see in many french craft ales.

Bottle from Carrefour, Calais. This is a golden beer with earthy, toffee and spicy notes with a slight floral and caramel finish.

JEK69 (396) - FRANCE - JUN 4, 2013
Pours cloudy light orange, foamy white head slowly settles. Aroma is yeasty and fruity. Some earthy notes and spices come afterwards. Lively carbonation, light-medium bodied, a kind of pleasant acetic "zing" crispy palate, vinous. Simply the best French Bière de Garde !
