Bottle from a store in Nice old town. Pours pale orange with a pinkish tint, and a white head which diminishes to nothing within seconds. Aroma is sweet, bread, yeast, floral hop. Quite sweet, light bitterness and touch sour. Light body, texture slightly sticky. Fizzy mouthfeel.

33cl bottle. Pours a hale golden orange, with a good-sized, clean, white head. Aroma is orange, grapes, slightly vinous, fermented fruit, peach. Taste is semi-dry. Quite spicy, fermented fruit, some peach, quite a bit of spicy and flowery hoppiness. Fairly light with decent carbonation. Good, reliable, stable, if not very remarkable.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet Manglerud enjoyed at home
Copper, big white head. Smells of apple and melon, yeast esters, light malts and spices. Moderate sweet, quite spicy, nice fruityness, quite lots of yeast character as well. Moderate bitter, spicy finish with a touch of apple peel. Interesting biere de garde; one of the better ones i’ve tried.

Embrouille (2853) - SWITZERLAND - JAN 30, 2009
Appearance: It pours a clear golden beer with a beautiful white head. Aroma: Hoppy with hints of sage and lemon peel. Rather strong. Belgian yeast character. Flavor and palate: Good bitterness. Lemon peel, quinces and sage appearing. Flowery. Complex. Rather full bodied. Wonderful long bitter finish with hints of lemongrass and sage. Overall impression: Deeply pleasant. A very nice surprise.

TAR (2765) - Blue Ridge Mountains, North Carolina, USA - AUG 6, 2009
Rusty gold. Alluringly creamy and persistent white foam. Rustic yet brightly fruity nose of minerals, dusty yeast, toasted hay, aniseed, dried pineapple, cotton candy, and herbal hops. Whiff of sulfur lurks in the background. Dense and fluffy carbonation. Considerably mouth-filling with a well-rouned lagerlike fullness. Snappy minerals gently lift the rich yet pristine cakey malt base while lending vivid definition and crispness. Residual sweetness teases the palate as it deposits shades of cotton candy and cake to create a magical alliance with the dusty yeast. Yeast coats the palate with a pillow-soft doughy element while the malt flutters about, expressing ample flavor and a tongue-hugging powdery textures with suggestive toasted hay notions. Baked apple flabbiness remains distant enough so as to not weigh down the immaculate attenuation or overshadow the array of subtleties too much. Peppery notes shyly exude throughout, adding yet more layers of nuance. Finishes continually dusty and mineralic, with an artfully subdued punctuation of flavorsome hops which seamlessly morph into a well-polished spicy and herbal bitterness. Beers like this are among the most difficult to craft. This is an exquisite work of art, chock-full of spellbinding subtleties combined with rustic allure and character.

opalescent golden colour, moderate sized off white head; aroma of fruits, grains, maybe some earth, and sweat notes too; taste is the same with banana and peppery notes; correct beer

14.11.2009, 0,75l Bottle. From Vinmonopolet. Yellow colour with white head. Hazy. Aroma is Wheat, yeast and basement. There is a strange taste to this beer. But there is also a lot of nice "blonde" flavours. Ten minutes later: The strange taste isn’t that strange anymore. This beer is really getting better the more you drink. This was my rateber number 500!
