The beer is quite boring. The brewers don’t succed in making a abbey dubbel style. They shoul concentrate on their own style saison and stay away from the Belgian styles. Wheaty flavor and yeasty, malty finish. Eructoblaster (4458) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 22, 2004
On tap at Falstaff, Paris. Nice copper body topped with a good white foamy head. Pleasant fruity aroma with hints of alcohol and brown sugar. Rich sweet taste with a decent warming finish. A bit unidimansional, but I like it. MiP (16055) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - NOV 19, 2004
Bottle. Brown colour. Creamy, light brown head. Hint of spice in aroma and flavour. Quite sweet. turbothy (1141) - Bonn, GERMANY - NOV 8, 2004
A very delicious beer - sweet, but not cloying. Probably a disappointment if you’re after complexity, but a wholesome brew. Nate (4296) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 26, 2004
Raisin, plum, clove and ginger, some other Christmas spices, reminding me of a spicy Christmas candle. Sweet and spicy. Dark amber clear with thin off-white lacing head. Light-medium watery body with light soft carbonation. Aroma fools you into thinking that this is a rich, complex beer. Taste is pretty weak and watery. Starts with light sweetness and malt, with nondescript spicy tones. No acidity. Finish is mild sweet and some bitterness. It’s well balanced, but just lacks any substance. After is malty, a little nutty, with maybe some clove.

(750 ml corked bottle, champagne style. Bought in Denmark.). A Christmas beer in August, why not? Amber colour, large fizzy head that doesn’t last very long. Pleasant and complex aroma of oak, caramel, dried fruits and spices. I find the flavour less complex, maybe because of the beer’s fizzyness. Still it is reasonably malty and easily drinkable, fairly sweet. Aftertaste is OK but not impressive. Dalle (1145) - Skørping, DENMARK - FEB 9, 2004
Amber colour w. almost no head. Malty with thin-ish soft palate. Not much going on. ThomasE (5174) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - FEB 4, 2004
Amber colour with small and fast disappearing head. Taste is sweet and fruity, and the beer has a lovely palate. jfm (1724) - Holbæk, DENMARK - JAN 11, 2004
Copper color with a white head. The taste is sweet but kind of watery with notes of malts. Finishes kind of bitter. Christian (13932) - Odense, DENMARK - DEC 17, 2003
Amber with a fizzy, quickly disappearing head. Malt and fruit aroma, some lemon. Sweet without much aftertaste. Nice, but nothing special, especially if compared to other dubbels.
