Big head upon pouring.Soon goes to leave a clear blonde beer.Lots of lacing afer drinking and traces of fruitiness although nothing too definite. Reasonably pleasant if uninspiring.

Clear goldblond coloured beer with small white head and few carbonation. Sweet spicy aroma (bit like chocolate). Full sparkling palate. Finish is bitter sweet with special spicy taste. Good one.

Bottled, 650ml Swing Top. Gold with white head. Sweet, clean and refreshing beer with a lightness that belies its strength, there are some vegetal notes within the body of the beer but they seem to add to its character. I really quite enjoyed it.

65cl flip-top bottle: My bottle was best before Jan 2008 and drank in May 2007. Part of a mixed four pack, this is the first to be reviewed. Poured into a Hoegaarden Grand Cru tulip glass which holds 33cl (so used it twice). Large pop, as I opened the bottle, lots of pressure in there then, it frightened the dog, he doesn’t like champagne being opened either. Clear golden amber, not a light straw colour blonde, this one has highlights. A good solid white head sat on top, the beer looked impressive. A slight citrus aroma, not much else for my nose, although I rarely smell much when sniffing lagers and blondes. The taste was OK, no great flavours hit you, but for a blonde-lager it is well above average for the mouthfeel and drinkability. The 6.4% alcohol gives it a little kick, all in all, not a bad beer.

JonMoore (2067) - Loughborough, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - JAN 2, 2006
Bottle. Slightly hazy golden colour with a large white head. Aroma of light yeast, malt and fruits. Odd taste, which I almost think I don’t like; there seems to be a battle going on between the good and the bad in this beer, and they mostly cancel each other out. Sweet, malty, fruity and some hops but some dodgy chemical elements also. Medium mouthfeel, moderate carbonation. On reflection, overall; not bad.

rauchbier (3891) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - JAN 24, 2007
Bottle. Gold, good fluffy white head and moderate condition. Peppery fruit and grain in the nose with a touch of sweet pineapple, dry bitter graininess in the mouth with some background esteriness, gentle fruity finish with more esters lingering.
