When a beer says "biere d’abbay" but states on the back that it is brewed "under license of an abbey", states no name of a brewery and the customer service directs towards a large supermarket chain, it is time to be suspicious. This brew however is actually quite nice. I drank it straight from the can, but noticed the delicate aroma of candy sugar with some licorice and a hint of roasted malts and caramel. The color seems to be coppery to golden and the flavor is sweet and slightly sour. Somewhat reminding me of some amber colored biere de gardes I’ve had here in France. It’s nothing special, but a lot better than the can made me presume. cheeta (1181) - Langå, DENMARK - NOV 22, 2011
