harrisoni (19348) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - AUG 3, 2016
Bottle from Terre de Boissons Calais and drunk at home. Dark brown russet ruby colour lasting tan head. Malty fruity aroma. Some fruity malty flavour in the mouth. It’s like Soreen malt fruit loaf. Very malty. Lots of peppery hop on the finish. I love the plums dark cherries and the brown malt level. Very drinkable. I’ve decided I do like beer. In fact I like lots of beers of different types. I’ve had a couple of IPAs, now a Belgian strong and I’ve got a German something next. God I love beer.

Light aroma of roasting. Typical Belgian strong ale alcohol feel in the mouth with a layer of roasted malt. Rich brew but not complex.

I was in awe when I poured it. It’s magic, like a snowball. Smells of clove, hot wine, walnuts. Opaque with almost no foam. Quite bland on the tongue: taste of cereals, biscuit and raisins but disappears quickly.

Bottle 33cl. Hazy dark ruby brown, decent creamy beige head, recedes slowly, good lacing; aroma sweet malty, caramel, candy sugar, roasted, cacao, some cinnamon; taste moderate sweet and bitter, some chocolate; medium to full body, oily to creamy texture, average carbonation, malty bittersweet finish, chocolate, spicy notes (cinnamon, cloves), hint of wood, alcohol well-hidden; overall a tasty and robust winter beer.

Bottle looks simple but really good. Beer in the glass zippy, dark brown, nice head. Starts intense malty, strong, a bit alcoholic, some fruity notes. Hints of caramel, a bit earthy. Strong-malty finish, light woody notes. A good one!

Grzesiek79 (4435) - Radom, POLAND - MAY 20, 2014
Dobre smaczne ze srednia piana piwo koloru ciemnego bursztynu. W smaku smaczne karmelowo rodzynkowe. Przypomina belgijskie piwa swiateczne. Tresciwe i nieco wytrawne w koncowce. Zgrabna buteleczka z artystyczna etykieta. Piwo ktore zachecilo mnie do skosztowania srebrnym medalem w Paryzu. Udane dobre lecz nie porywajace piwo.

Trübes dunkel rötlichbraunes Bier mit ordentlicher Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr fruchtig malzig, Karamell, würzig. Geschmack leicht röstmalzig, dunkle reife Früchte, Karamell, leicht alkoholisch.

Quack-Duck (9533) - Down South, GERMANY - MAR 2, 2014
bottle from saveur-biere. Murky brown, mid-sized off-white head. Fruity-spicy-chocolatey aroma. Full-bodied with the alcohol well disguised. Malty with hints of chocolate, caramel, dreid fruit and cough syrup/spices. Smooth palate. Unusual and pleasant.

erickok (6036) - Leuven, BELGIUM - DEC 24, 2013
Brown bodied, dark and Christmas-y. Dough, candy sugar, bit grainy, licorice root. Original but wouldn’t please anyone. Taste is cough drop, light sweet, medicinal, not super nice. Bit too dry and not concentrated enough. Alcohol warms but should give body too. Wintery yes, but not heartwarming. Doesn’t do it for me. Could have been better. (33cl bottle from La Cave à Bulles)

markas101 (2502) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - APR 17, 2013
33 cl bottle, Sheffield, UK via La Cave à Bulles , Paris, France. Deep brown mahogany, thin head. Sweet rasin and brown sugar aroma, some winter spice as well. Sweet, mince pie flavour, then more prune and some chocolate on the long spiced hop finish.
