Pours dark brown with a large chunky head that disappears quickly. Aroma of chocolate, nuts, and coffee. Nice flavor, but a bit too thin and overcarbonated.

Appearance : Deep brown with small foamy brown head.
Aroma : Rich brown sugar with spices and molasses. Light yeast but not a lot. Slightly mineral.

33cl bottle from La Cave Bulles in Paris. Pours a deep brown colored body with a slight ruby hue. Finger-width, fizzy, brown head that dissipates quickly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is slightly sweet, bready caramel malts with some raisin dark fruits, touches of roast, a bit of a yeasty spice, and a hint of chocolate. Flavor is similar. Light chocolate notes with some raisin dark fruits up front as well as a slightly sweet and bready caramel malt. A light yeasty note with a solid roastiness comes out towards the end as this finishes dry, lightly bitter, roasty, raisiny, and slightly sweet. Lengthy aftertaste following a medium, smooth body and a somewhat active, medium-high carbonation. Overall, a pretty solid beer. Well roasted and pleasantly sweet with a nice, dry finish and raisin dark fruit note. Good one.

Gr0ve (2177) - Oslo, NORWAY - SEP 11, 2009
330 ml bottle. Dark brown and slightly hazy. Tall light beige head. Crisp papery aroma with a note of yeast. Fruity and ashy. Dark milk chocolate. Nicely balanced, but there is something iffy about this beer as there is quite a bit of yeast and ash. Very high carbonation level. Feels light and refreshing because of this. Surprisingly drinkable in the end.
