750ml bottle thanks to Cleg. Pours a murky orange/straw color with a thick foamy off white head. Aroma of white grapes, apples, citrus, and Belgian yeast. Taste is is like a fruity wine. Grapes, lemon, orange, light spices, and Belgian yeast.

On tap at Kickbacks, pours a clear gold with a white head, the aroma has a little bit of fruit mixed in with some funk and barnyard notes, the flavor has a pretty fruity front end with some must and dirt in the finish, good, just nothing jumps out and says amazing, I’d drink again if offered.

Bottle thanks to a trade! Pours a near clear pale dandelion with a bubbly white head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has a nice light bitter/tart citrus note with a dry grape note and a bit of light spice. Flavor has a nice combination of citrus and dry grapes with a nice light spice and yeast note to round out the beer.

Hazy pale straw pour with a white head. The nose is quite floral and fruity. Citrus zest, lots of lemon, white grapes, and some tropical fruit. A bit of sweet bread, some cracker, and a touch of grass and spice. The flavor is sweet up front with some grape, bread, and tropical fruit. Light grassiness, floral hops, citrus zest, and a hint of lemon tartness.

Appearance: beautiful coppery orange, with an aggressive, foamy bone white head that lasts forever, leaving rich lacing. Aroma: warm orange muffins, with full yeasty spices, with some uncooked pie crust and lemon zest . Taste: white wine, apple skin, green tea, raisins, peppercorns, some yeast and citrus zest; minerality is prominent. Finish: very dry and tart, with some lingering citrus. Notes: Didn’t particularly care for this one. Very pretty and nice to smell, but the flavors didn’t work for me. The beer seemed heavier than it should have been, based upon the aroma and flavors. The full mineral-water character and dry finish were not complimentary. I love a good saison, but I could not love this beer, though I wanted to. Bottle from the Rare Beer Club.

UDBeernut (2883) - Saint Johns, Florida, USA - APR 18, 2013
bottle recieved in the Locals4Locals BIF. Pours golden/amber hue, slight haze. Nose has some wafts of grapeskins, sugar, yeast, and faint earth. Taste is more sweet than I was expecting with addition of grapes. Medium full body.

Bottle from Knightly. This pours a bright golden color with a fluffy white head on top that yields some spotty lacing. There’s a musty, earthy, funky aroma to this that’s accompanied by white grape, citrus peel, and some herbal notes. The flavors are assertive but very drinkable. Straw notes mingle with sweet peach, white grape, and husky notes. There’s plenty of funky yeastiness throughout. Lightly tart upfront before turning somewhat dry in the finish, with mild bitter herbal hops. Nicely put together. This is the best beer I’ve had from Saint Somewhere.
