COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An amber ale brewed in the spirit of the abbey ales of Belgium. Lectio Divina gets its color from candi sugar, as it is made without dark or crystal malts. It is brewed with the same care and attention to the Art of Brewing that is practiced in the monastic breweries of Belgium.

Rated on 01-11-2010 (Corked & Caged Bottle) This beer pours a medium sized beige fizzy head that mostly diminished, transparent body, fast rising carbonation, one ring of lacing, and a reddish hue with an orange tint. The Aroma is that of apples, clove, yeast, spicy, sweet, and fruity. The Taste is sweet, mildly sour, fruity, spicy, funky, sugary, and has a dry finish. The Palate is tingly and this beer is medium bodied. Overall, the Aromas and Flavors are enticing, is a nice winter beer, worth trying, and a beer I would drink again.

Poured from a 750ml bottle, thanks to Doug. Notes of apple, sweet lemons, caramel. A bit sweet for a saison. Meh.

Hazy toffee/amber colored pour. Small off-white head. Not much lacing as it quickly races away. Very nice acetic note. Not overpowering. A nice malty undertone mixed in with the funk. Very tart at first but quickly replaced with a slightly watered down malty taste. Burnt crackers. Sweetish finish. A little thinner in the back than I would like, but a very good beer.

Bottle from South Bay Drugs: After unscrewing the wire the cork exploded out and snapped the wire in a huge explosion. Im so glad it didnt blow up in my face because that was some explosion. Second complaint I have about this beer is the aroma, it has a strange smell of a non-alcoholic malted beverage. The flavor is just the same and instead of tasting like a beer it taste very similar to a bottle of Malta Goya which I dont care for too much.

On tap at Churchkey. Nose is dry and herbal with faint bread crust. Flavor is dry and mildly fruity. Very odd. Hard to describe. Herbal excess somewhere.

Tap at Churchkey for the Craft Brewers Conference. Poured a clear amber color with a slightly off-white head. Aroma smells like wet socks. Not a fan - flavor was marginally better, some funk notes herbal notes, yeast. Not a huge fan of this particular one.

A hazed reddish dark amber with a thick frothy mocha head, gusher. In aroma, a sour malt with cherries, brett, dark fruits, fruit sourness, OK. In mouth, a nice sweet caramel malt with fruity notes, cherries, sour yet still good.
