An amber ale brewed in the spirit of the abbey ales of Belgium. Lectio Divina gets its color from candi sugar, as it is made without dark or crystal malts. It is brewed with the same care and attention to the Art of Brewing that is practiced in the monastic breweries of Belgium.

750 ml bottle poured a hazy orange amber with a lasting creamy amber head. Aromas of apple, plum, spice, carmel and light honey. Palate wasmedium bodied and smooth. Flavors of apple, plum, spice and light brown sugar with a smooth fruity finish.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured clear dark brown color with medium frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with fair lacing. Complex tart citrus, fruity and yeasty aroma. Medium sweet spicy flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Medium body with a sticky texture and lively carbonation. Good brew.

A hazed reddish dark amber with a thick frothy mocha head, gusher. In aroma, a sour malt with cherries, brett, dark fruits, fruit sourness, OK. In mouth, a nice sweet caramel malt with fruity notes, cherries, sour yet still good.

Bottle courtesy of Degarth. 1st batch. Thanks! Looks like unfiltered apple cider in the glass. Medium sized frothy head that diminishes quickly. Funky, caramelly, butterscotchy, fruity aroma. Taste is strong caramel with prunes, spice. Thick texture, nicely carbonated.

750 mL bottle. Pours hazy amber with an average, fizzy, light brown head, somewhat lasting with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (bread, straw), average hops (flowers, grass), heavy yeast (horse blanket, barnyard, earth) with notes of apple, pear, raspberry, and wood. Full bodied, sticky and gritty texture, lively carbonation, and a chalky finish. Average duration, light sweetness, acidity, and bitterness.

Corked bottle from EricAndersNavy, thanks! Amber color, very lively carbonation. Melon, pineapple, grassy notes and caramel in the aroma. Pear, mango, caramel and leather in the malty sweet flavor. Just a touch of alcohol. Leather and pear drups in the aftertaste.

UPDATED: OCT 15, 2010 Sample at the Beer ’N Rock Band tasting on 08/27/2010: Acquired via trade. Pours a murky reddish-orange color with a medium thick and fluffy light tan head that diminishes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of yeast, spices and fruit. Light and effervescent body with flavors of caramel, yeast, nutmeg and cherries. The finish is malty at first and leaves a yeast and sweet spice aftertaste. Above average overall.

(750ml bottle) Pours a cloudy burnt orange body with a small white head. Aroma of apple, caramel, dough, and light herbs. Flavor of apple, floral hops, orange peel, earthiness, alcohol, and herbs with a disappointingly low level of carbonation in the mouthfeel.
