COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An amber ale brewed in the spirit of the abbey ales of Belgium. Lectio Divina gets its color from candi sugar, as it is made without dark or crystal malts. It is brewed with the same care and attention to the Art of Brewing that is practiced in the monastic breweries of Belgium.

750ml bottle hazy chestnut brown big 3 finger head. Nose is tart, cherry notes, musty, lacto, soil, earthy. Mouthfeel is on the thin side and extremely carbonated, a bit too much. Taste is musty, earthy berry, spices, nutty, dark fruit notes. Finish is tart, grains, fruity, spice, bready. Some decent flavors trapped in there but overall pretty messy. Just OK. (From 10/30 notes)

The aroma is cider like with yeast, fruit, flowers, spice, and corn malt. The appearance is hazy amber. The flavor is like the aroma and light. The palate is thin but OK. I like it.

Bottle shared at tasting. Pours cloudy and a dark caramel color with a big lasting creamy beige head. Smell is mild and dusty malt. Too mild in fact. Taste is similarly tame, and slightly sweet with not much going on flavorwise. Hints of dusty sweet spice which become almost a touch cloying in the end. Not something Id be crazy about having again.

750ml bottle. Med brown and cloudy color. Very light nose, some typical belgian scents. Overall found this to be pretty sweet, with a nice overall flavor. Belgian yeasts were also noticeable. Very nice smooth finish, but very short lived.

Thanks to BeerLando for the 750ml bottle. Cloudy dark orange color with a large head. Aroma was yeasty (banana) with caramel malt and a hint of spice. Very sweet flavor, medium body and kind of boring.

Tap at Paradiso Dupont. The pour is a cloudy raspberry tea color, very dirty deep orange. No head formation from the pour- fizzy tan bubbles rise and fall. The nose is baked apples, high esters, cinnamon toast, red fruits, cherry juice box. The taste is raspberry tea, bland and tannic with lemon. As it warms a hefty dose of spicy alcohol comes through with cinnamon waffle character. Palate is dry, powdery, fairly bitter and spicy in the finish. Candy and fruity in the aftertaste. Not saison in any form I know of.

UPDATED: APR 3, 2012 From the 3/2012 3R6P tasting. +++Sampled from a 750 ml corked brown bottle this beer poured a caramel-orange color with a huge sudsy tan head that left no lacing. The aroma was very bitter and tart with notes of peach and vinegar. The flavor was peach, lemon, nut and bread with faint vinegar and a cream undertone. The finish was long peach, bread and vinegar and turned a bit dry. Medium body. Ok.

Draft at Blind Tiger with Andrew. Pours a hazy red body with thin white head. Aroma is muted sour cherry, and belgian yeast. Mouthfeel is thin with notes of somewhat offensive fruity malts, dry bitterness, very like cherries and berry.

Bottle at Exira Beer Summit IV. Thanks to adnielsen for bringing the bottle. Pours a hazy orangish tan color with white head. Malty, slight nutty, caramel, funky aromas. Very tangy, caramel, dusty, yeasty flavors. Not a huge fan of this one.
