Sainte-Hélènes wheat beer, with thick, creamy, regular, stable, snow white head and golden blonde colour with dusty yeast particles, cloudy ochre with deposit. Obvious wheat in the nose, flowers, green apple, soap, unripe melon, sour milk, lemon zest, abbey cheese, coriander, earth, sherry, hay - not unlike a saison. Subdued fruity, very wheaty taste, pretty strong carbo, dry and light sourish, some coriander but fortunately not exaggerated as is often the case in this style, light finish with very vague, brief hoppiness. Special witbier, like many other Wallonian wheat beers quite far away from the Hoegaarden standard; remarkably, the brewer advises 10 - 12° C as the serving temperature, so cellar temperature - I imagine most typical witbier drinkers prefer their ’blancheke’ well below that...

This blonde comes in 75cl bottles. When poured into the glass, it gave a hazy yellowish colour, with a nice head. The taste is refreshing, but mine was probably not cold enough. A nice beer, but not exciting. aspidites (1271) - manteca, California, USA - MAR 6, 2005
Like sourdough bread tart acidic and unspiced. Notes of spent grain and zesty yeast somewhat peppery and refreshing. axilla (962) - New Providence, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 11, 2004
WCC2-Cloudy yellow body with a huge fluffy head. Lemony wheat nose and flavor with some corriander and light yeast also present. OlJuntan64 (1264) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - MAY 3, 2004
UPDATED: MAY 5, 2004 WCCII: Thanks Kastsa. Medium hazy greyish yellow under a medium small white head and some small lacy blobs. Light grainy sourdough with hint of kerosene aroma. Thin watery lowish carb body. Light sour to bland sourdough grainy and some bready yeast flavours. Not much going for this one at all.

Thanks to Kasta for bringing this to When Continents Collide 2. Aroma of hay/spice flavor is spicey with a mild hay. Slightly sweet. Spicey kick in the finish. TheBeerGod (6284) - Newport News, Virginia, USA - APR 25, 2004
Thanks to Kasta for bringing this to When Continents Collide 2! Cloudy blond with a small white head. Aroma is fruit and spice with some lighter wheat and yeast notes. Yep, it smells like a witbier. Taste is carbonated fruit with spice and yeast. Finish seems sweeter and leans more towards the citrus fruit flavor. Not too bad. hopscotch (11451) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - APR 24, 2004
Hazy, straw-colored ale with a small, creamy, white head. Excellent, stratus, dripping lacework. Corn and orange peel in the aroma. Very well-balanced with notes of orange blossom honey, mixed spices and grapefruit. Medium-bodied with a silky mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. Lengthy, corny, then dry finish. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - APR 24, 2004
