Dark brown to black pour, a black body with a nice medium tan to light brown head which changes slowly into a closed and vast lacing. Looks good!
The aromas are almost imperial stout like: liquorice, coffee, dark chocolate, rum, tar and coffee roast
The flavour is coffee, dark roast and burned rubber at first, than it changes minimally into a fine mix of dark chocolate, coffee/espresso, roasted/burned barleys malts, roasted/burned wood, dark chocolate drenched hops/herbs.
There’s an overall good growing bitterness in this beer which results in a long bitter roasted almost burned aftertaste with a touch of dryness.
Low carbo, full body, watery to a light creamy mouthfeel and a light watery texture.
Really good beer; lot of roast, bitterness and a fine body. blutt59 (6565) - Dallas, Texas, USA - DEC 16, 2010

(750ml bottle bb Oct 2011 thanks to bu11zeye) opaque ruddy orange-brown with thick creamy tan bubbles. Nose of brown sugar, mossy, cherry. Taste is peppery, light smoke, moss, peat, brown sugar, caramel and maple. Creamy body, lightly bitter finish. Really nice!! Mora2000 (6158) - McKinney, Texas, USA - DEC 21, 2010
Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle.
The beer pours a hazy brownish-red color with a tan head. The aroma is brown sugar, toffee and some dark fruit. The flavor is slightly more complex. I get some iced tea notes, as well as some brown sugar, Belgian yeast, cherries and some earthy and piney hops notes. There is very little bitterness from the hops. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. DutchDrebus (6034) - Oirschot, NETHERLANDS - SEP 30, 2013
Bottle @ Borefts ’13 thx to Illuvatarmilan (if I spelled that correctly). Pitch black coloured beer with a full sized, dark brown head (which looks lovely). Smells some iron, roasty and coffee. Tastes coffee, again iron, liquorice, slightly salty and roasty. I’m not a fan of liquorice taste in beer, but this beer does it quite nicely. Medium to full body and soft carbo.
