75cl bottle @ home (old notes). Beautiful label! Dark brown colour, beige foal. Sweet nose of caramel, dark fruit. Bit thin and watery. Not bad.

One of those recent Sainte-Hélène projects, apparently discontinued again meanwhile. Very thick and rocky, firm, pale beige head, colour very dark burgundy, hazy. Aroma of sourish yeast and dark malts, walnuts, grapefruit, wine vinegar, blackcurrant, figues, cloves, sour cherries, cream, tea leaves, lemon peel. Acid onset, even a bit vinegar-like, medium carbo, restrained fruitiness, nutty malts, bit Orval-like ’barnyard’ in the finish along with a hint of roasted bitterness. Bit strange and suffering from a mild infection, but interesting still.

Bottle. Brown body with a big off-white head. Fruity aroma with some caramel and some spice. Flavour is malty and fruity with a slight sour touch. Medium bodied.

Bottle swing top: Poured a brown color with a light brown head, this thing went off like mt. st. helens when I opened it. The aroma is a sweet caramel malt, also hops and leafiness to it. Taste was bitter leafy somewhat fruity.

Draught @ Kerstbierfestival 2006 in Essen, BE. Clear medium amber / brown color with a creamy off-white head. Aroma of caramel and pilsner malt, biscuit, coriander and some banana (yeast ?) Flavor is light sweet and bitter, heavy acidic with a metalic finish

Bart (2936) - Brussels, BELGIUM - DEC 18, 2006
Draught. Hazy brown coloured with a small off-white head. Light aroma, little chocolat, maltyness. Full sweeter taste. Finish is bitter, maybe little metalic. Little disappointing one.

3.2
Jukkabro (3484) - Tampere, FINLAND - DEC 17, 2006
Dark red colored, little light brown head. Aroma is good with nuts, chocolate, caramel, mild alcohol, licorice and some berryish tones. Medium bodied. Flavor is milder with mild hoppy butterness and some hayish spices, sour berries in dry aftertaste.

3.5
JorisPPattyn (10062) - BELGIUM - DEC 17, 2006
Draught Deep-chestnut with a dense, permanent yellow head, like moccha icecream. Fresh, green malts and dry hop bales, as well as CO² in the nose, good! Bitterish, chocolate, leafy, but not very outspoken. Tastes might be suppressed because of polar serving temperature. Maybe some bananaester in the finish. Medium to well-bodied, cold thinning it. Interesting, if not really great.

3.3
Bov (13221) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - NOV 19, 2006
cloudy reddish-brown colour with a little foam; cookie maltiness in the nose, light notes of pear and vanilla; medium-bodied and with a low bitterness; long malty, biscuity finish
