Bottle shared by bhenson. Pours clear gold with a huge fluffy white head and a floral aroma. There is a hearty light malt flavor with a little fruit and a spicy earthy finish. A pleasant drink.

August 2017 - Bottle share at Chriso's Pre-GBBF Shindig. Thanks! As 'Saison Dupont Cuvée Dry Hopping (2017)', 6.5%. Golden yellow, highly sparkling, translucent, big foamy white head leaves full lacing. Aroma is biscuity, barley grains, a touch of soap. Body is light and frothy with tingly carbonation. Taste is a touch washed out by carbonation, spicy saison yeast giving white pepper and cumin vibes, a little soapy with a soft biscuity malt character. Quite nice. (7-4-7-3-15=3.6)

Robe blonde voilée. Mousse blanche importante, assez légère et aérée. Bonne tenue.

Bottle. Light hazy pale yellow with a large white head with good retention. Pleasant nose with yeast and hops; light banana, flowers, light bubblegum and dry grass. The flavour follows the nose with some banana, light pepper, hay, dry grass, light dough. Medium body, some sweetness, light to medium bitter with pricking carbonation. Feels somewhat watery. Ok.

Bottle. Head is initially large to huge, frothy, rocky, white, fully lasting. Body is hazy medium to dark yellow. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (grain, cracker), moderately to heavily hoppy (flowers, Meyer lemon), lightly to moderately yeasty (cobwebs, basement), with notes of gum, plastic, pepper, light note of celery seed. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety/oily texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Something just doesn't seem right about this year's coovy, unfortunately. Which is a shame because the initial volatile hop odor is really enticing, and paired with the best Dupont appearance perhaps ever (much bigger and rockier head than normal, which lasts forever), at first glance this was looking to be a 4.5-level delight. As the head recedes, though, some plastic and vegetal character creeps in and spoils the show. Not completely, thankfully -- there's still a good bit of joy in here -- but enough to keep it from being a vintage to buy much of. This is my second bottle, and both have been enjoyable enough right down to the last ounce, but not without having to overlook the flaws.
