beernbourbon (1592) - Iowa City, Iowa, USA - JUL 30, 2013
Bottle. Pour is cloudy gold with large fluffy white head. Aroma is spicy, earthy, peppery, faintly hoppy, and lightly herbal. Flavor is crisp and spicy with hints of citrus, herbs, and light floral hops. A really solid beer with a bit more body to it than the non-hopped version.

750 ml brown bottle. It pours a hazy golden color with a medium sized fluffy head. The aroma has some citrus and pepper with the yeast esters not overpowering but just right. There is a slight bit of fresh green leaves. It’s akin to smelling a live plant. The taste has some sweet malt at first with some peppery spice at the back end. It’s a refreshing beer especially in this summer heat.

Light yellow pour with fluffy head. Aroma of pear and funky yeast. Flavor is funk, dust, hops, pears, apples. Easy drinking. Not bad.

Saison Dupont Cuvee Dry Hopped is a great find for Belgium beer season. Aromatic floral hops coming off a light amber pour. Head is fluffy white but doesn’t last long. Taste is citrusy with a dry finish and a light sour. A light floral hop note lingers. Cuvee is one to be savored. Get while you can.

freeofthoughts (688) - Raytown, Missouri, USA - JUL 26, 2013
Tap pours hazy golden yellow with a light tint of orange, light white fizz on rim. The aroma is sweet pale malts with a light Belgian funk and some citrus. The grains give a nice spice with some wheat like character and a smooth but hearty flavor. A light bit light bodied the carbonation fills out the space with some tingle. There is a great light Belgian funk with very well paired hops, orange and lemon citrus, and some dried hay and flowery freshness really bring it around. Good brew for sure but very impressive balance of hops.

really nice floral and fruit nose, hints of bubblegum and mint leaves, lemon grass. Flavor the familiar soft fruit, herbal and a little pepper hop. Soft carbonation, medium body. Very nice.

kidmartinek (4999) - austin, Texas, USA - JUL 24, 2013
Hazy, gold color. White head but not for long. Aroma of basement and deep hollers with a lot of springtime yeasty sweetness mixed in. Rocky, dusty finish, followed by a puckering, weak sweetness.

Cloudy yellow with a white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, fruity, yeasty and light hoppy. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. Dry and light bitter finish. Not many signs of dry hopping here, but a good beer anyway

Bottle, this saison had a bright yellow pour with hints of gold and orange with a bit of haze (the ale got hazier as I poured towards the bottom of the bottle), the glass had a large, white fluffy head that receded to a thick cover and ring that stuck to the sides of the glass, there was nice spots and rings of lacing on the glass, the bottom of the bottle had a loose layer of brown sediment, there were aromas of grass, hay and floral hops with light malt, citrus, light orange fruit, faint wild flower and herbs with faint yeast and earth / floral spices, and just a hint of fruit and bread sweetness on the nose, it had flavors of grass and dusty hops with light malt and bread, light fruit with faint spice, very little sweetness, and the finish was dry with a light bitterness, this drink finished pretty dry, the mouth feel was light and creamy, and it had average to lively carbonation, this beer was a nice drink, a saison with grassy hops, this ale resembled the Saison Dupont with more hops that are grassy and dried the palate after the finish, a great Summer beer.
