Big white head. Hazy, orange with bits of yeast floating around and about. Aroma is yeasty and fruity. It is fruity, a bit spicy, yeasty and sweet in taste but there is also a nice bitter lingering feel in the finnish. The brew feels very soft in your mouth, almost oily. I like that. Thumbs up! swoopjones (7020) - Buffalo, New York, USA - AUG 29, 2007
UPDATED: MAY 22, 2008 750 ml @ Coles Buffalo NY. Pours a somewhat cloudy golden color. Fruity sweet aroma. Very carbonated. Missed some of the complexity in the beginning. Much better as it warmed up. Peppery, spicy & quite good 6-4-7-4-15=3.6
05/19/08 On tap @ Maproom. Absoulutely tremendous beer. Spicy, balanced, saison spiciness & complexity. 7-4-8-4-17 mabel (9246) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 29, 2007
UPDATED: DEC 11, 2014 [564-20070827] 250mL (By Jan-08). Funky sourdough and tart generic fruit aroma with light petrol notes and something that hints at chocolate but doesn’t follow through. Very murky, pale orange brown body with a medium-lasting foamy white head. Alcohol is very noticeable upon tasting, hiding the fruit background and blend of strange spices. Medium body. While not an overly strong beer, the booze still seems over-powering in terms of masking all other flavours. (6/4/5/3/11) 2.9

[6047B-20131109] 750mL bottle. Fruity yeast aroma. Hazy, pale orange body with a big long-lasting creamy white head. Yeasty fresh fruity flavour. Medium body is a little zippy. Good, nice saison balance. (7/4/8/4/16) 3.9
750 ml bottle. Pours a murky brownish gold, with a big fizzy meringue -like white head that retains well and laces the glass.Beerlando (3342) - Orlando, Florida, USA - AUG 21, 2007
The aroma is musty yeast, cloves and banana. There are some metallic skunky notes. As it warms, some peppery, floral notes and a little citrus come out.
The flavor is bready malts, yeast and a little fruit with a slightly bitter peppery finish. There are some skunky metallic notes. The mouthfeel is medium and extremely bubbly with a ton of carbonation (too much for me). As it warms, the mouthfeel smooths out a lot.
This is a tale of two beers. I sampled it after letting it sit out for a little while. I started pretty cold and it seemed pretty pedestrian (about a 6/10). As it warms, it smooths out and becomes more complex.
UPDATED: AUG 22, 2008 Light golden-amber body that is hazy towards the center, and borders on clear at the edges. Thick, fluffy white head that leaves behind ample lacing. The aroma shows fizzy, fruity esters, sweet banana, sour citrus, fresh flowers, and a funky farmhouse yeast. The flavor profile is very similar, though a bit more defined. Lemon emerges as the mystery citrus fruit, and the yeast really shows its funkiness as the beer warms. There’s also a surprising, appealing bitterness to the taste. Medium body with a creamy texture that finishes rather dry and dusty. Refreshing. Very nice, classic farmhouse Saison. A benchmark for the style.

UPDATED: MAR 8, 2009 Pours cloudy. Smooth and fruity (banana?) but dry, with herbal notes and a dry crisp subtle aftertaste. However, this is more bitter and hopped than i expected too. Heaps of character bordering on the sublime. Combines flavors like bitter, sour, sweet and citrus into a full and complex balance but is light, crisp and refreshing at the same time. Classic. winkle (478) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - AUG 19, 2007
Loverly stuff, poured a star bright clear straw for a start then clouded a bit. Huge head. Spicy aroma and flavour with a pretty full mouthfeel. Good over-all. BeerBiker (1415) - Odense, DENMARK - AUG 18, 2007
[Sampled at Carlsens in 2005.] Oh I just love these saisons. Thisone complex and fullbodied. Many ingredients and with a very nice yeasty flavor. Also sourness which is good caused by the fruity aroma. Some spices, coriander and with a finish of wishing more. malrubius (2902) - Springfield, Vermont, USA - AUG 18, 2007
375ml bottle in Gulden Draak Tulip. Pours hazy pale orange with big lasting white head and lasting lace. Aroma of citrusy fresh hops with a hint of vanilla. Flavors of vanilla tobacco with very hoppy spicy dry finish. Medium body, medium-high carbonation make for a great mouthfeel and extreme refreshment. It just doesn’t get any better than this. juiceisloose (1492) - Windermere, Florida, USA - AUG 14, 2007
Poured a hazy yellow color with a nice white head that bubbles and fissled out pretty quickly. The aroma of yeast, grains, citrus fruit and barnyard smells. The aroma had a striking resemblence to Heineken for some odd reason. The taste follwed much the same with some bitterness and spices in there as well. It was light bodied and finished dry. Was good in the typical saison fashion.
