COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned.
Saison Dupont is a classic Belgian farmhouse ale. This is a beautifully balanced, complex beer that has a refreshing fruitiness and long, dry finish. It is bottled unfiltered so it may be cloudy or have a slight sediment but this is normal and perfectly natural.

For export relabeled as "Vieille Provision".

Pours an amazing rocky white head on top of golden hazy honey. Nose is mostly clean with touch of hay and slight sourness. Taste starts clean, moves to mild sourness and finishes crisply bitter. Malt stays in the background but provides a solid foundation. Mouthfeel is full but highly drinkable.

Certainly a classic example of the style--this Saison emdodies the notion of an easy-going light Belgian ale for the warm season. Pours a light cloudy yellow-gold with a thick, puffy head. Light grainy lemon aromas with an even lighter hint of spice and earth alongside Belgian yeast notes. Flavor is again light and tart with some esters and a slight spicy earthy hops bitterness. Mouthfeel is clean and crisp with some lingering bitterness and fruity esters.

I had tried several Saisons and even brewed a couple at home before finally getting my hands on some Dupont. This is truly the "reference" beer for Saison. Balanced malt and hop flavors set off by fruity esters. A persistent creamy head that lasted to the last drop. Slight peppery spice but not "hot" at all. Great beer for the warmer months.

750 ml. Clean aroma- very fresh & grassy. Fluffy head, yellow / amber / hazy appearance. But the bitterness lasts and lasts and lasts to the point where it detracted from the enjoyment of the beer. Not sure if it was that it was so dry that the bitterness stood out so much, but I was disappointed overall. Description on the bottle says that this "ends clean"- hmmm, not really. Phantomes Saison is much better.

Bottle, IBS, Perth, WA Aged in suboptimal conditions for 2 years, Utter sublimation, with a sweet maltiness that was unexpected of a beer of this gravity, compounded by a complexity from the yeast that is enchanting. Excellence.

Another one of my Top 3. Saison Dupont is the best Farmhouse Ale around. I have tried a few in the past and this is by far the best. Its a stranded on a desert island beer along with Piraat.

Aroma: fantasically good, reminds me of Duvel, spicy yeast and spices, cloves, coriander, green banana, candisugar, rich but light malt. Some alcohol.
Appearance: slightly cloudy, nice. Etxotic golden orange, green rind. White, fluffy head.
Flavour: initially sweet, corn sugar, malty, EXTREMELY well balanced, some bitterness, spicy, wheat, some sourishness, almost milky...
Palate: soft, really good, certain sting but above all thick and silky.

Bottle. Cloudy yellow body with large foam/fizzy head that last pretty long. Aroma is sourish and hefeweizenlike. Flavor is spicy, smokey and banana. Finish is hoppy. A spicy hopy aftertaste, clovelike. Palate is thin and has som dryness. A refriishing beer.

Thick, frothy head lead by a smooth citrus aroma. A muddy gold color masks an orangy body of flavor. The aftertaste is dry and clean and not overly strong or fruity. Solid lacing and overall a terrific beer.
