Saison Dupont is a classic Belgian farmhouse ale. This is a beautifully balanced, complex beer that has a refreshing fruitiness and long, dry finish. It is bottled unfiltered so it may be cloudy or have a slight sediment but this is normal and perfectly natural.

For export relabeled as "Vieille Provision".

The beer doesnt look very special. The color of the beer is a pale yellow. The beer has a slight cloudiness. Not as much as i aspected for an unfiltered beer though. On top of the beer a rough layer of white foam is formed, which collapses quickly leaving a minimal drape. The smell of the beer is nice. It has a true saison touch. I smell a nice hoppy bitterness, a bit grassy, and some sweet malts. It is simple. Its basically just simple hops and malts. There isnt much else. Simple, but nice. The same goes for the taste. It reminds me a bit of Duvel. It has the same bitter robust hop flavour. There is a nice yeasty touch to, a bit earthy. This combines with the bitter hops perfectly. A malty sweetness to balance it all and youre finished. A nice amount of gas to tingle the tongue and voila.

Draft. Pale gold poured with a thin white head. The aroma was fruity with notes of lemon zest and coriander. Slightly sour.

Pale yellow hazy pour with a lasting finger of white foam that laces thoroughly. Aroma is tangy lemon, yeast, a touch of spice and a slight grassiness. Flavor is different from the nose, with a soft sweetness balancing some slight bitter/tangy fruits like apple and pear. Very, very tasty. Overzealous carbonation/effervescence detracts from the delicious flavor for me.

I was shocked that I havent rated this beer, considering it is one of the few regulars, despite my constant search for new flavors. This is not the best saison in the world, but if I were to pick a beer that best represents the extensive style that is saisons, this is would be it. It has a cloudy orange color, high carbonation, lasting head. Has a sweet and fruity aroma, touch of bubblegum, very yeast dominated. Has a noticeable maltiness on the nose, light bready, biscuity aroma and a slight hint of continental hops. Starts malty and balanced, before finishing dry and spicy, both from hops and phenols, A touch of tartness, but not really sour. This is great with a variety of foods. Easy drinking. It is an easy beer to like, even though it is an "intro-level" saison.

A bottle from lApero off-licence, drunk at home. Aroma: hay, citrus, very fresh and inviting. Appearance: clear, golden, with a persistent half finger of white froth. Palate: full-bodied but rather thin in texture, average carbonation. Long, fruity finish. Taste: sweetness and citrus fruit sourness in equal measure - extremely well-balanced. Not my favourite style of beer, but very refreshing. Thoroughly recommended for a summer afternoon.
