COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The most delightful way to enjoy Saku Porter would be in front of a fireplace or in candle light during those long and dark winter nights. This beer keeps you warm all through the coldest time of the year. Saku Porter is the ideal accompaniment to roasted meats and game. The fact that porter is also perfectly suited to light various desserts, especially those containing chocolate, may not be that commonly known. The ideal serving temperature for Saku Porter is rather high, 12–14 °C, a typical quality for dark beers. Saku Porter, a unique dark beer with strong taste, is brewed of water, caramel, light and coffee malts, hop and yeast, however, only once a year – for Christmas. Similarly to classical porters, Saku Porter is a strong (alc. 7.5 % of volume) full-bodied beer. A special jewel to Saku Porter is its high, rich, brownish foam.

Note: Originally 7.5%, the production has moved between Aldaris and Saku.

Porter raczej słodki niż goryczkowy, sporo karmelu. Wysycenie w sam raz. (Ocena przeniesiona z innego portalu piwnego).

0.5 l bottle from Alko Ympyrätalo, Helsinki. Appearances is dark brown with a nice head. Aroma has wet dog or something. Taste is motor oily, some bitterness, but not too much. The current version is sadly uninteresting. Decent but too easy. This used to be great before Carlsberg took over.

Bought fro a local Alko in a 0,5L bottle. Appearance; dark brown beer with a beige, creamy head. Aroma; some roasted malts, an inch metallic some coffee with milk. Taste; roasted malts, light basic hops and some caramel. It has a bit less then a medium body which makes it easy to drink. It is a nice porter for someone who starts tasting porters. Leaves no bad after taste. It is a nice, mass produced porter. Saku is absolutely not the worst brewery, I think they respect the Baltic tradition of porter. So they do not go under a certain level of quality.

UPDATED: FEB 9, 2018 Kolor ciemno rubinowy, klarowny. Piana beżowa, dość wysoka, średnio trwała. Pozostawia niewielkie zdobienia na szklance. Aromat jest generalnie mało wyraźny, nieco kawowej paloności, takiej jakby suchej i minimalnie ciemne owoce.  W smaku metaliczność, tutaj raczej pochodząca od wody, dalej delikatne nuty palone, kawowe, trochę akcentów owocowych, nieco kwaskowych, wytrawnych. Goryczka delikatna, trochę sucha. Wysycenie średnie, pasuje. Piwo jest średnio pełne i to momentami przeszkadza, jest szorstkie, 'suche'.

Średnio wysycone, nieprzejrzyste. Aromaty lagerowe, nieco utlenienia w suszone owoce, trochę kawy. W smaku nieco puste, wodniste, dobrze zamaskowany alkohol. Przyjemna wytrawność i paloność. Dość nieskomplikowane, pijalne piwo, w style nieco odbiegającym od porteru bałtyckiego, a bliżej mu do brown porteru.
