3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
500ml bottle, thanks to Finn for this gift at Yuletide. Fast declining, beige head. Deep dark body with a shiny ruby tint. Moderate smell of liquorice and dark malts. Earthy malts, notes of dark spices and added by sweet liquorice. Soft and dry in the mouth. Nice Baltic Porter, however, a bit too sweet for a higher score (at home, Tromsø 29.12.2010).

Bottled: Pitch black coloured. Fluffy brown head. LIght roasty and light burnt maltnotes in the nose. Some cocoa and liqourice as well. Roast, cocoa, burnt flavours. Alcohol and sweetness in the end. Very warming on the lips. Not the most excelling sample of the style, but still a quite good beer.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
This one is the Christmas version, but it’s supposedly the same as the "normal" porter. It’s black/brown with a moderate head. The aroma has notes of coffee, a bit of chocolate, licorice, berries and alcohol and it has an OK bitterness. I think the alcohol is too dominant in the flavour.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Apparently it was a bit of a fluke that this ended up on the shelves of the LCBO instead of a private order. Interesting. Ruby amber body, moderate off white head. Sweetish malty aroma is muted. Fruity sweet malt with a touch of caramel. Palate is light. Not bad, not great either. Toronto Christmas Party 2004.
