COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The most delightful way to enjoy Saku Porter would be in front of a fireplace or in candle light during those long and dark winter nights. This beer keeps you warm all through the coldest time of the year. Saku Porter is the ideal accompaniment to roasted meats and game. The fact that porter is also perfectly suited to light various desserts, especially those containing chocolate, may not be that commonly known. The ideal serving temperature for Saku Porter is rather high, 12–14 °C, a typical quality for dark beers. Saku Porter, a unique dark beer with strong taste, is brewed of water, caramel, light and coffee malts, hop and yeast, however, only once a year – for Christmas. Similarly to classical porters, Saku Porter is a strong (alc. 7.5 % of volume) full-bodied beer. A special jewel to Saku Porter is its high, rich, brownish foam.

Note: Originally brewed in Saku at 7.5%, moved to Aldaris and reduced to 7% in winter 2009/2010.

A strange smell of grape from this one, but good -- not so for a beer, but good. Tastes like dry grapey porter with hops mixed in. Worth a try, but nothing more.

Butelka. Aromat palone, kawa lekka, słodkie, wiśnie. W smaku goryczka lekko alkholowa, lekko rozgrzewające. Piana słaba trochę jak na coli, szybko opada.

Idiosynkrasie (6717) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - NOV 14, 2016
500ml bottle. Opaque, darkest brown colour with small to average, thick, creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige to tan head. Minimally fruity, dark malty aroma, cautious hints of plum and bramble. Taste is moderately sweet dark malty, slightly sugary and minimally vinous, notes of cherry, dark berries, plum; lasting, sweet-ish fruity, minimally sticky finish.

Estebanik (835) - Lublin, POLAND - NOV 8, 2016
Piana wysoka, acz dość gruboziarnista, trwała. Ładnie koronkuje, opadając. W aromacie sos sojowy, karmel, trochę pumpernikla. W smaku przyjemnie gładkie, wysycenie średnie, pasujące do porteru bałtyckiego. W smaku nuty praktycznie te same co w aromacie, z tym, że sos sojowy jest zepchnięty na granicę wyczuwalności. Daje rade.

hvn (277) - Nuuk, GREENLAND - NOV 2, 2016

SonOfAnarchy (146) - ST HELENA - SEP 30, 2016
Dark brown with tan head. Aroma of sweet liquor, caramel, plum, and dark rye bread. Taste is rather sweet with notes of burned malts, plum, coffee, and dark chocolate. Coffee and burned malts aftertaste. Medium to high body, oily texture, soft carbonation, slightly bitter finish. Didn’t do it for me.

Barwa ciemno-brunatna, piana mało intensywna. Aromat to przypalony karmel, mocno przypieczona skórka od chleba, czekolada w tle. W smaku lekko słodkie, czekolada, trochę karmelu i anyżkowe cukierki w tle. Goryczka niska, ziołowa.
