Klasické hořké pivo Praha or Saku Praha for short is a classic light beer rich in hops brewed following the finest traditions of Czech brewmasters. The same is also stated in the official Czech name of the beer. Anyone who has learned to appreciate and love the bitterness of hops knows that this is how a beer is supposed to taste. Crisp refreshment with a strong flavour.

The brewmasters of Plzen started to brew this beer with a strong taste of hops back in 1842 and today this has become the benchmark for all pilsner beers. Pure pleasure in every sip.

Senka (1090) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - MAR 15, 2014
I remember this beer as being a good imitation of Staropramen. Drinkable, bitter, but not much. Had some 6-10 bottles, but was nt’ot impressd in the final run Simple mass produced lager it was.

liinis (1774) - Helsinki, FINLAND - AUG 8, 2012
normal beer no surprises. nothing special but not bad either. malty and sweetish. light hops.

nazzty (1378) - Ödåkra - Helsingborg, SWEDEN - JUL 11, 2012
Fine beer from Saku. Missing, however, that extra bit of bitterness from the Czech original. Malt flavor is on the other hand in great prominence.

HopfenWeisse (1558) - - JUL 2, 2012
Clear yellow colour with small head. Aroma is grain, hints of hops. Flavour is sweet malty.

Marduk (8219) - Reval, ESTONIA - MAY 8, 2012
0,5l bottle. Clear yellow color. Small white head, disappears quickly. Grain in aroma, very very faint hops. Tastes like every average Saku lager.

TBone (18105) - Pori, FINLAND - APR 8, 2012
Bottled 500ml (Maxima Tallinn, BB 10/2012)
Clear golden color, small white head. Aroma of rubber, grains and weak dusty hops. Light bodied. Harsh. Corn-like maltyness. Saku-like rubbery notes in the flavor. Very faint hoppyness. It is really pale lager, not a pils even name is "Praha" ("hoppyrich classic pale beer"

kingstoni (2149) - FINLAND - DEC 21, 2011
Bottle. Clear light golden colour. No head. Mild aroma of vanilla and citrus. A little hops on taste. Watery and quite carbonated on palate. Not much aftertaste whatsoever. Nothing really wrong but it’s quite dull.

rosenbergh (11759) - Tampere, FINLAND - DEC 2, 2011
500 ml bottle. From Tallinn, Estonia. Thanks Mikko!
Clear pale golden colour with small white head. Candy sweetness and grainy malt in aroma. Grainy malt, some bitterness and sweetness in flavour. Drinkable but not good. I couldn’t find that pure pleasure in every (any) sip.

oh6gdx (26485) - Vasa, FINLAND - NOV 4, 2011

FatPhil (16960) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - OCT 30, 2011
500ml bottle (Stockmann, Tallinn) (4:2:4:2:9=2.1)
4 Interesting aroma, it’s more like a viru than a saku. However, either way, it’s a .ee pale lager.
2 Pale, scummy head.
4 Dull lagery malts, so much a saku taste. Hops are certainly more pronounced than normal, but that’s the only difference.
2+ Watery. Hops do have an OK tingle, but they’re very papery.
9 Not actually worse than Czech pilsners from similarly sized macros. Exactly what I expected, to be honest.
Rerate: (5:2:5:2:9=2.3) Fuller flavour, some honey.
